Chapter 5 - Bad Moon Rising

==Hospital==

"How is she alive?", Mayor Johnson asked himself. He looked at the phone in his pocket to see a text from his son about dinner tomorrow night since that's the traditional family dinner in honor of the Mayor's late wife and his son mother.

*Flashback to the wedding day*

*Flashback to the honeymoon & the two finding out the wife was pregnant later on*

*Flashback to the mayor winning the election and someone trying to attack and snipe him out later on afterwards*

*Flashback of him activating his curse saving protecting his wife and infant child when enemies attacked their home and set the fire to it*

Back to the present, Benji was getting on his new car he got from his dad after it was worked on and fixed up, 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. The inspiration was from the Fast & Furious franchise especially 2 Fast 2 Furious, 1 of Benji's favorites. He was making sure he had everything and was looking for his paperwork of insurance and checked his overhead mirror and a note fell in his lap that read "family dinner tonight & bring your "friend" also".

"What the hell?!", Benji said as he turned around and looked around him, his paranoia kicking in. A text from this friend came through and it read "don't forget to get my favorite drink and candy". He then smiled and snapped out of it. He cranked the car and backed out the driver way and made his way to the store and then off to pick up his date.

Damon, his brother Stefan and their friend Alaric (who was called over to the Salvatore house) discuss the old Isobel stories about anything mystery revolving around Mason and his family given what happened at the festival the other night.

== Salvatore Boarding House ==

''Thanks for coming, Ric. Can I get you something to drink? Coffee, bourbon? Bourbon in your coffee?"

Elena mentioned you needed my help. [Note: Elena looks like Katherine]

Stefan says while pouring himself a glass of water, "Yeah, we were hoping you could help shed some light on the Smallwood family."

[Back at the Smallwood mansion Mason is goes outside the house for a run. Tyler observes him and follows.]

Alaric sips his coffee and says, "Now, why would I know anything about the Smallwood's?"

Damon answers after sipping his drink, "Well, you wouldn't. But your dead, not-dead vampire wife might."

Elena, who just arrived a few minutes ago, goes and sits by Stefan and says, "Isobel's research from when you guys were at Duke together."

Stefan adds, "You said that she had spent years researching this town."

Alaric sits back and takes another sip, "Isobel's research here in Falls Church rooted in folklores and legends but at the time I thought much of which was fiction."

"Like that amazing vampire story."

"Aside from vampires, what else?", Elena said before drinking her water.

"The lycanthrope."

"Wait, like werewolves?" Elena asked.

"No way, impossible, ''way'' too Lon Chaney." Damon says.

"Is it?" Stefan asked.

Damon shakes his head and laughs and says, "I've been on this planet one hundred and sixty some odd years, never came across one. If werewolves exist, where the hell are they?"

[We see Mason running in the woods. Tyler is following him. Mason goes down some brick steps into the ruins.]

Alaric leans in as he sits back up, "Why do you suspect the Smallwoods?"
