The door of meeting room swinged opened, revealing a half panting half running Lee Jihoon who was apparently late for their weakly Saturday meeting.
He was half an hour late and considering the chances of him not turning up for the meeting today since he was supposed to hand down his makeout scene, the meeting already started, their CEO, Kim Seokjin, sitting in middle and watching the younger bewildered at the moment.
The whole department was talking about him from early morning. Seokjin had a very well idea of what was going on but since he wasn't asked for opinion when Jihoon said he'd do it, he was no one to stop him either back when he was drunk.
He lowkey knew the moment Jihoon will sobar up, he was going to regret it so bad that he might wouldn't turn to office for few days. As he was a writer, coming to office wasn't important, but the important thing here was the Saturday meetings held every week where Seokjin himself would talk to writers and editors of every section of department to know what really was going on with their work.
But he did expected Jihoon to slack off for today, and even if he did, Seokjin had decided not to scold him for that. He understands the pressure when authors are given something to write which is out of their comfort zone, he knows writers aren't that versatile, they have their specific skill, thought processing and most importantly, their own way to show love and he could never blame Jihoon if he didn't make up for it.
But surprisingly, the younger was here, slamming the bunch of printed copies on the table as he looked around, grinning, "Have your fill fuckers!"
And the copies disappeared the moment he let go of his hold on them. He was proud, not even considering the fact that he cursed in front of his CEO, well, he never did consider so it wasn't even that surprising.
Seokjin laughed the way Jihoon sat on the table, not even bothering to find his designated chair while feeling proud the moment everyone's jaw dropped after reading his writting.
One of them even shuttered, "Did...did you write it?"
The other one replied, "This is definitely his writting but.....I never knew he could.."
They couldn't complete their sentence and it was the moment Jihoon knew he won. He was still sitting on table, feeling the happiness creeping out from his chest before one of them commeted, "And here you said he couldn't right romance! I would have believed you if i hadn't read this today."
The former looked at latter, his friend by his side who shifted uncomfortably, feeling embarrassed. But Jihoon knew it was his time to make a halt in these bullshit things.
"For your kind information, I must tell you, I don't consider this as romance."
Each of them looked at him as if he was high on his words. Though the younger looked as if he was some kind of monk while sitting on table, his words were rather rebellious, "For me, it is not. Though I know, everyone have a different definition of romance for them and when you are writing it on papers while imagining your characters, your views reflect on it. For example, some of you might have considered sex as romance and must have made it important for all your characters as a way to show their love. Some of you think romance as the intimacy and explicit moments while some as fluff and angust. For me, it's none of them, not even the one I wrote."
Seokjin stared at the face sitting in middle, a slight smile being crooked on his face as he stared at smaller's soul, knowing well his employees were going to get the teaching worth of lifetime achievements.
He continued when he thought he got enough attention to start roasting them, "For me, it's the small things. Like when my characters gets slightly possesive of other, it's my romance. When they want to protect their loved onces even when the whole world is against them, it's my romance. When they care for the one whom no one ever tried to understand, it's my romance. From slight rubbing of thumbs against skins to being the only one who can calm the other down, it's all my romance. My romance consist of home, a comfort place, a person who would understand you like no other, and if you think all these while that my books were not romantic enough, you have to change your way of looking at them, and when you'll see the way I portray my romance, you'll realise they were the best romantic books ever written!"
