Is not there something to be said
About a gift given so free?
It ought to fully fill our hearts
With so much hope and joy and glee.
By faith we're saved and not of works,
And only faith in Jesus name,
And e'en this faith a free gift is
So on it we shall have no claim.
To be this way is only right
So there be nothing we may boast.
That Jesus died to pay our price
God wants us to remember most.
Our Savior Christ, He purchased us;
His blood He shed on Calvary's tree.
There be no way that we may earn
A gift given so wholly free.
