A.n. Sorry for the late update but here it is chapter 2
"Flank left." Leela whispered. I crept up the side of the building after Leela. Up ahead, a group of survivors were fending off some meatbags.

"Do we help?" I asked quietly.

"And get ourselves killed? No way. They're a distraction. When they go down, we move."

Just as she said that, a few of the survivors turned and ran round a corner, leading the zombies away.

"Or that. Come on, let's go."

We were organized like soldiers. Monika and Conner had both previously been cadets, and so they knew their military commands and formations. Leela, me, Adam, Molly and Emy all made up the front line. Behind us, Monika, Chloe, Mum, Conner and Michael. Behind them, three girls from English and Leon from history, so on and so forth We had our formation. It was two layers of armed people, then in the centre of the group people carried provisions like food, ammo and water.

We crossed over yet another silent road, avoiding the cars littered everywhere. There was one corpse that had no eyes, or arms and one leg, a look of terror frozen on her ashen face. I stepped round her, whereas Leela carelessly just stood on her torso, using her as a podium of sorts and turned to face the rest of us.

"Ok, guys, which way to the beach?" One of the horders, we called them, pulled out a map, and motioned with his head.

"Up ahead. Take a right, continue up to the big roundabout. Then go left once. When you see a huge Asda supermarket, take a right and continue."

"Right. Let's move."

Instead of going past the supermarket, we paused, as Molly asked, "How are we doing for provisions?"

"Not so good, we could do with making a pit-stop." Conner called back.

The big Asda's doors were kept open by a dead body lying there.

"Looks like there's power so we don't need this guy." I almost picked up his legs before my mum stopped me, "This is the only way out of the store that we know of. If the power runs out and these doors shut, we're trapped." I nodded, understanding.

"Rule number twenty-two: When in doubt, know your way out, Smallfry." I smiled as Michael quoted my favourite movie, Zombieland as he sidestepped inside the store.

"Smallfry, eh?" Chloe teased, causing me to grin.

"Shut up and get in there!" I laughed.

We split up into four different groups.

Alpha group: me, Molly, Leela, Michael and Adam guarding Philippa, Amie and Charmaine, getting bread and pastas.

Beta group: Mum, Emy, Lucas, Chloe and Callum protecting Sophia, Scott and Isaac collecting meats.

Charlie group: Kyla, Monika, Chloe G and Katie looking out for Charmaine, Hannah, Alex (Leela's lil bro) and Ella, who were gathering water and fruits.

Delta group was Kyle, Connor, Rameses, Scarlett and Katie N scouting meatbags.

We had eventually got everything we needed and met back upstairs at the cafeteria. There were black sofas and couches that looked very comfy and I suddenly felt a pang of sleepiness. All the supplies were bagged up as I walked over to Leela.

"Y'know, this is the longest you've gone without pulling a face at me." I grinned.

"Ha, yeah. I guess so," She turned to face me, "It's just I've got so much on my mind."

"Hey, I get it. You four are leaders. The pressure must be tough." she sighed and smirked slightly.

"You've no idea." We were silent for a while before I carefully asked, "Did you manage to find your family?"
