Long story short, one man was not a good man. One of lowlifes, actually. He knew it very well and accepted this fact long time ago.
Once in a while happened bad days to this man. Poor thing rarely got tricked but still staff happened. The very top of that list of scammers was occupied by some of big figures of the community with the exception of one. That person was unprecedented.
There was a young woman (to whom we would address as the Woman because, God knows, she deserves it). The Woman had such an angelic appearance that no one would ever consider her to be the devil in the flesh. Our man included.
He was choosing his very next victim (please, do not judge him, everyone needs to make a living), when his gaze fell on the most innocent creature he had ever met. The Woman tricked him with that appearance of hers! Trust him, a wolf knows a wolf but that day he made a mistake and understood it too late. Her answers betrayed the Woman as she was too straightforward and managed a lawful one. It didn't matter as he was already on the hook and he knew it. Truth to be told, as a professional con man himself he even admired the Woman. He accepted his defeat, gave her her deserved payoff and left with nothing. He starved for a while but, being a professional, took it as an inspiration to work harder on his own skill.
Poor unfortunate soul! If only he knew she was just being honest.
