Loving you.

graces PoV
Adam leaves early morning and left me a sweet note after staying with me last night .
Being with him makes me feel something I've never felt before. I love him.
My whole body craves him. My heart adores him.
I never thought I'd fall for him like this.
Usually when I feel like this, I run. Love is fulfilling but can hurt. What if he hurts me? Or what if one day he decides this isn't what he wants and I'm already all in ?
I try not to overthink, but how can I stop myself when ahe's all I think about?

After long time of contemplation, I decided I'll just take a step back until I know he feels 100% the same way. Some space won't hurt, right?

I called in the office and told them I wouldn't be there today. Now that I know I love him, it'll be hard for me to face him without blurting it out.
I shut my phone off to stop myself from thinking about.

Adams Pov:

I texted grace earlier but she didn't respond. That's unlike her. I sent her a couple more texts and went to sleep.
When I woke up, still no text from grace. I didn't understand. We had a wonderful weekend. I felt like we got closer than ever. I drive to the office to see if she came to work.
she's not here.
I go to the front desk to my receptionist,
" good morning, did Grace ever call out?"
" yes sir, she called out late yesterday evening saying she wouldn't be here in the morning."
" thank you, tell my employees I am moving the meeting back that was scheduled for today. We will have it tomorrow. I won't be here for the rest of the day."
" will do boss."

I'm worried. Grace doesn't usually call out. Maybe late all the time and blames it on her alarm, but never calls out. I'm going to her house. I pick up some flowers on the way. I pull into her driveway, I see her car is there parked so she's here.
I knock, and no answer.
I knock again, and I hear footsteps approaching the door.
She opens the door, and her eyes are puffy. has she been crying ? Or did she oversleep again? Knowing grace, most likely the overslept one.

"adam? What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at the office for the meeting?"she asks me.
" grace, aren't YOU supposed to be at the office for the meeting as well?" I smart back to her.
She scoffs and rolls her eyes.
I ignore it, and hand her the flowers and walk in.
" I just want to be by myself today Adam." She says with her head down avoiding eye contact. She walks off to the kitchen and puts the flowers down in the counter.
I pick her up and hold her.
" baby girl what's going on? This isn't like you."
She digs her head in my shoulder.
I walk her into her bedroom and sit her on my lap on the bed.
" tell daddy what's bothering you.I'm worried about you baby girl."
"I want to talk to you about something but I'm kinda afraid to tell you." She says quietly.
"you can talk to me about anything baby. if it's something you need, I got it. If it's something you want, I got it." I tell her .

"I f-feel for you. like . A lot . And it scares me."she says stuttering. I can tell she's not used to feeling strong emotions towards another person, or she's been hurt before.
"listen to me princess, look at me. There's nothing I want more than you. Every inch of you, I adore. you make me complete baby girl. come see ."
I hold her in my arms tight on the bed and kiss her head.
" I don't think you're understanding what I'm trying to say." She tells me sitting back up.
She walks out the room.
I grab her back by her waist and pick her up again, " don't walk away from me honey, tell me what's on your mind.I'm all ears for you."
"No I don't want to. This has happened before, I know how it ends, just forget I even said anything and just leave." She says with tears in her eyes.
she walks away from me again.
"Grace, what is it? I can't fix it if you won't give it to me. Tell me what it is . I'm not leaving until this is fixed. Tell me grace. Just say whatever it is."

She turns around to face me again.
" I fucking love you Adam. I do. I can't help it, I love you. I'm in love with you. I love what we have but I don't want it to end bad. I don't want to be hurt." She says with tears coming out of her eyes.
I rush to her , picking her up holding her so tight she couldn't get down. she's crying In my arms.
"I love you too my beautiful girl", I say in her ear.
she stops crying and I can hear her sniffling.
" you love me? She asks me, looking in my eyes with her big beautiful green eyes.
" I love you more than life itself grace. nothing compares to my love for you darling. I'd do anything and everything for you. I will love you to the day I die. And when I do, my soul will still search to find yours."
She starts tearing up by what I said.
I wipe her beautiful face, and kiss her lips.
"You don't have to be scared of love with me. I will always take care of you. I've never felt this way about anyone either. You turned me soft, baby."
I brush her hair behind her ear, and she lets out a sigh of relief. she wraps around me even tighter , laying her head on my shoulder. I turn to whisper in her ear,

" everything about you is worth loving, grace."
