returning after defeat

(y/n) and the others were in the middle of nowhere trying to walk their way back home after they had lost so badly.

Like it wasn't even funny, they had to run like bitches. They were hoping fighting Yaldabaoth would be easy since if she had a host, that it wasn't most likely they weren't strong since being around Yaldabaoth can be a headache in itself. They thought that the host only had gear 2 and nothing else and was still learning. So it would be a stomp for them, but nope! Carnelia, Yaldabaoth's host, had gear 3! And she's good at Sarkicism, and she kicked their asses with it without using her sacred gear! That's how strong she was! So the fight just turned to, "let see if we can hurt her" which the answer was no, no they couldn't. It wasn't a fight, it was a pity fight. The second the "fight" had started, five of them were immediately pinned to the wall as two of them had to run to quickly recover so they could fight. Then one of them was injured so one of them had to heal the injured one while the other five had to fight Carnelia who they barely hurt. Then when one of them turned into like an evil version of themself and basically had a rage moment like in anime. Usually in a rage moment, the person is losing until the person who's breathing the shit out of them taunts them and makes fun which in turns the person which caused them to rage and go into their rage form. Then the person who is raging beats the living shit of the person who made them mad and basically wins the fight like it was nothing, turning the table around. But that didn't happen, the person who was raging got their assed kicked in seconds, it didn't even last a minute. Gura had a rage moment and still got her assed kicked! They all got their asses kicked! Nothing was going right for them. Then all of a sudden Carnelia then basically said "fuck you guys, i'm going gear 3" and turns into her gear 3! Fucking gear 3! (y/n) doesn't have it but she does! How long did she have her gear for? Who knows but it doesn't matter since she has gear 3! No one was ready for that, they were getting their assed kicked beforehand so obviously in that situation. They had to run away because no way in hell were they beating that shit. So they had to retreat and basically admit defeat. They had a phoenix, death's apprentice, and someone who has Mekhane as a sacred gear, and they still lost. You can feel the failure everyone was feeling as they walked back to the town after they got their assed kicked.

It didn't help that Carnelia could have just turned into gear 3 early and kill them all before they had time to react so that means she was just toying with all of them. That thought alone wasn't helping anyone, especially Gura.

and you can imagine how that's going right.

Gura: ame! My feet are tired! Please carry me!

Gura whined like a child to Amelia.

Amelia: no! My feet are tired and you're too heavy!

Gura: heavy! You can't call a girl heavy! Stinky!

She said, trying to defend herself.

Amelia: Well I'm a girl so I can call you heavy all I want bonehead! Now shut up!

She screamed back to Gura which annoyed her. They've been walking for hours now and the sun's heat was killing her, especially since she's a shark and isn't supposed to take on a lot of heat. Though People like Calli, Kiara, and Vox were fine since they weren't human. Gura, Ina, Amelia and (y/n) were tired from walking especially since they just got their assed kicked from Yaldabaoth and her host, Carnelia. Hell they're lucky to even survive their encounter with her. Though the one that was mostly hurt by this loss was Gura, well mostly it was Mekhane and (y/n) since their whole point is that they need to Yaldabaoth from dooming all of humanity but Gura felt like she was suffering the most. Mostly because she didn't like the fact that she needed to walk all the way home after getting her ass kicked by Yaldabaoth, like she was walking down the road of shame.
