ice skating

            "COLBY, where are we going?" i asked while looking out the car window trying to get hints on where we could be going.
"it's a secret silly. it wouldn't be a surprise then." he smiles and shrugs it off.

we've been driving for about 10 minutes and we finally arrive at the location.
"close your eyes." colby tells me and i do. i put my hands over my eyes.
"no peaking." he opens my door for me and helps me out of the car. he puts one of his arms around my waist navigating me towards the entrance. he opens the door.
"surprise!" he yells. i remove my hands and i face him.
"ice skating. really?"
"i thought i would teach you!" he smiles innocently. of course you can't tell him no so you just agreed. we walk over to where you buy the skates.
"hello! what size skates can i get ya?" the lady asks.
"y/n, why don't you find a table and i'll get our skates okay?"
"okay." i walk away to find a table. i found a table and sat down waiting for colby. like 5 minutes later i see colby coming back with 2 pairs of skates.
"here!" he hands me my pair and i put them on.
"let me tie them for you." he gets on one knee and ties my skates.
"such a gentleman." i laugh while standing up.

we walked to the entrance of the actual ice and i was so nervous. colby grabs my hand and takes me onto the ice.
"if you fall, i'll be right here." he reassured me.
"glide your feet like this." he shows me and example and i tried it.
"YOU'RE DOING IT!" he claps for joy. i smile and i start skating. i never thought that i could actually skate before but i'm doing it. i continue to glide my feet until i loose balance. i slip and start falling but before i hit the ground i was caught by someone.
"you're alright." colby looks down at me. i smile in response and i stand back up.

we skated for about 3 hours and we were both exhausted. we head back to our table changing back into our shoes and returning the skates that we used. we left the ice skating rank and headed back to colby's apartment.

we got back and i immediately went to sit on the couch. i was so tired and i just wanted to go to bed. shortly after i sat colby sat next to me. he opened his arms and i cuddled with him.
"today was really fun." i mumble into his chest.
"it was. we should do that again." he smiles.
"mhm." i reply. shortly after i fell asleep in colby's arms.
