Taehyung's fingers tapped against his phone screen as he composed a message to his new client, Jungkook. He wanted to ensure that their next therapy session went smoothly, and he believed that reaching out personally could help establish a stronger connection. Taking a moment to choose his words carefully, he sent the text, hoping it would resonate with Jungkook.
"Hey, Jungkook. It's Taehyung, your therapist. Come to this address for the next session."
As Taehyung pressed the send button, he couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and concern. He knew that their initial meeting had been brief, and Jungkook had seemed hesitant about therapy. However, Taehyung was determined to guide him on a path towards healing, to provide a safe space where Jungkook could share his burdens and find solace.
As Taehyung observed Jungkook during their first session, his gaze was drawn to the sadness reflected in his eyes. They held a depth of pain and vulnerability that struck a chord within Taehyung. It was as if he could see the weight of the world on Jungkook's shoulders, an overwhelming sense of being lost and adrift.
Something within Taehyung stirred, a compassionate instinct that went beyond the boundaries of a professional relationship. He couldn't explain why, but he felt a strong desire to help Jungkook, not just as his patient, but on a deeper level. There was an unspoken connection that he felt compelled to nurture, a yearning to offer support and guidance to someone who seemed to need it so profoundly.
In his usual practice, Taehyung would let the reception handle appointment arrangements, with the therapy room being the default venue. However, with Jungkook, he found himself deviating from his usual routine without even realizing it. He wanted to be more involved, to ensure that their sessions were conducted in a space that felt comfortable and secure for Jungkook. It was a departure from his professional protocols, driven by an earnest desire to make a difference in Jungkook's life.
After the session, Taehyung took a step further and requested Jungkook's number, wanting to establish a personal line of communication. It was a departure from his usual boundaries, but he felt an unspoken need to reach out to Jungkook beyond the confines of their therapy sessions. The reasons behind this inclination eluded Taehyung, but he simply knew that he wanted to be there for Jungkook, to offer support and guidance in any way he could.
Moments passed, and Taehyung wondered how Jungkook would react to his message. He understood that the decision to attend therapy was a deeply personal one, and he respected Jungkook's autonomy. But he couldn't help but hope that this gesture would signify a willingness on Jungkook's part to explore the therapeutic journey.
As Taehyung anxiously awaited a response from Jungkook, he noticed the three dots indicating that a message was being typed. Anticipation filled the air, but then, to his disappointment, the dots vanished, leaving Taehyung with the realization that Jungkook had left him on "seen" without a response. A sigh escaped his lips, tinged with a hint of concern.
In that moment, Taehyung couldn't help but worry whether Jungkook would actually show up for their upcoming session. The lack of communication left him wondering if Jungkook had second thoughts or if something else was troubling him. Despite his hopes, Taehyung had to accept that he couldn't control Jungkook's actions or decisions. All he could do was continue to hold space for him, hoping that Jungkook would find the strength and willingness to attend the session and embark on a journey towards healing and self-discovery.
When Jimin, his best friend of 12 years, personally approached Taehyung and shared about Jungkook, emphasizing the need to take care of him due to the hardships he had endured, Taehyung initially understood it as part of his job. He tohught "Of course, i will take care of him. It is my job." After all, Jimin mentioned that Jungkook was a close friend of Yoongi's. However, it wasn't until Taehyung met Jungkook himself that he truly comprehended the depth of what Jimin had conveyed. It was evident that Jungkook had indeed been through a lot, as his eyes alone spoke volumes of the pain he carried within. The walls he built around himself, his reluctance to open up, showcased the limited trust he had left in others.
In Taehyung's perspective, the losing the ability to trust was perhaps one of the most devastating experiences a person could face. It hindered the ability to love and what is life without love? Taehyung understood this all too well, having personally experienced the shattering of trust by someone he held dear. He would know the feeling of having his trust completely shattered from someone he had never expected from.
In a sudden and overwhelming rush, memories flooded Taehyung's mind like a relentless plague. The weight of those recollections became unbearable, causing his entire body to tremble uncontrollably. The vividness of that particular night consumed him, and the intensity of it all made him feel nauseous. Realizing he needed a moment to collect himself, Taehyung hastily stood up and made his way to the restroom, he felt like he would throw up any moment.
Taehyung wiped away the tears that stained his face, hoping that sleep would bring relief from the tormenting thoughts. However, his hope proved futile as the night stretched on, and sleep eluded him entirely. He tossed and turned, his mind besieged by painful memories, occasionally succumbing to tears as he had done countless times before. It might seem unusual for a therapist to grapple with such internal struggles, but Taehyung knew that everyone had their own battles to fight. He had become skillful at concealing his pain over the past decade, never sharing it with his family. He didn't them to worry for nothing. He didn't even have these episodes as often as before. So there was no need to worry his family.
With the arrival of morning, Taehyung reluctantly pulled himself out of bed, weary from the sleepless night. Despite his exhaustion, he prepared for his appointment with Jungkook, holding onto a glimmer of hope that Jungkook would show up. Taehyung knew that he had a duty to be there for his clients, even when his own battles weighed heavily on him. He didn't understand how but somehow the thought of meeting Jungkoook motivated him. Even though he had his own demons to fight, he wanted to help Jungkook desperately, He was not aware why. But he just did.
