Troubled Child

I was a disturbed child. I was able to see spirits, it frightened my parents and my actions were almost robotic. I was pretty much emotionless and mainly non verbal and I didn't look like either of them. But we had 3 DNA tests and all came back showing he was the father. My mother hated me for who I was. She saw me as a freak of nature rather than her child which I assume is why I'm like this now.

My father just wanted to continue his noble family name, the Darrow's were a rich bloodline, no one was allowed to stand out, parties were held regularly and it was up to each son to carry the family name and make sure it continued safely. My father taught me what a "real" man was meant to do, how a wife is meant to clean and cook and do everything to make the man happy, the male was supposed to work and fight and be protective over his wife.

I don't live up to any of his standards, I'm a gay man who has no desire to carry on our name. I'm ending the Darrow name and I'm doing it happily. I've never really cared to call my blood relatives "family", my friends are my life, they've supported me every step of the way, which a real family should do. Me and my friends have nicknames and we imagine each other as different family members. I tend to be associated with that gay uncle but I don't get called that.

I'm everyone's Cai. Each letter represents a trait we have, so mine is confident, attractive and I never knew what the I meant. They refused to tell me, I just hoped it was something good.

A Brewing Storm

Anyways. I had woken up with him in my arms and I got up for work, to his dislike.
"Baby why can't you stay home~ just one day please!" I just sighed, I hated seeing him do this but if I gave in I wouldn't forgive myself, I'd feel guilty. My work is everything to me , it was my escape from my relatives, the only thing that brought me joy in my life at a time. I shook my head.

"Please we could have so much fun! Like go to a circus or a theme park, I don't know whatever you like!" I glared at him, the eyes turning into a piercing red. He was getting on my last nerve, I would never want to hurt him, not deliberately at least. He was just so annoying.
"Can you just shut up? I'm not staying home and that's that!" I snapped at him and he jumped back slightly.
"Okay have a nice day babe.." Tears brewed in his eyes, it wasn't the first I had ever shouted at him or we had ever been in an argument.

I stormed down the stairs and saw my bodyguard Kieria who could already tell what had happened upstairs.
"Get me a driver ready Kieria, I need a drink and I'm not risking being arrested. I have a reputation to keep." She just nodded and pulled out her walkie talkie, covering her mouth talking into it.

I walked into my kitchen, there were 3 people sitting at the table who promptly stood up after noticing I had entered the room.
"Oh sir, your Lea and Sei came earlier but you were busy so they asked me to give you a message."
I looked over from the counter where I poured myself a drink. I rolled my eyes as I just expected him to continue.

"Go on then!" I downed a glass of vodka and slammed it onto the counter causing the other two to jump. One of the three stepped forward slightly and brushed her fingers through her hair as if to try and catch my attention. Ew. Desperate much.
"Well you see master, we don't exactly know what the message means."

I just placed both hands on the counter and faced my head down. She must have been poorly educated.
"If they gave you a message for ME, I will know what it means no matter if you know what it means or not understood?!" She nodded and scurried off and returned shortly with a letter which I read three times over.

"See I understand it, goodness we really didn't need to add that drama. Now one of you, make Remo pancakes and tea and give him breakfast in bed, I'm off to work." I pulled on my suit jacket which Kieria had left out for me on the island and straightened my tie.
"But sir you've drank! You can't possibly drive, you'll be arrested!" My eyes turned that blood red again.
