Azra pov

The year is 2134, June 22nd, it's been just over a year since the apocalypse began, since people disappeared or got killed by the drones, and four days since the drones kidnapped my family. It was the middle of the night when they broke into our house, in the chaos I hid in the basement bunker, hoping to find a way to free them soon. Luckily the drones didn't find me, I was scared, not more than heartless killer machines, destroying everything that didn't obey the rules. It was dark and cold, and I slowly ran out of food. I was starving, thirsty and alone, but I had to find food, I got out and looked around our house, everything dark, empty and destroyed, our furniture, the windows, even our pictures. I pulled the family picture out of the shards and put it in my pocket before I left. It was cloudy, dust and smoke coming from empty houses, some were even burning, I hid behind the fragments and ruins, so the drones wouldn't find me. I knew they just scan their surroundings, no heat detection, so if I was out of reach, I was invisible for them. I walked around the city, no signs of any living beings in our entire neighbourhood, it was weird being all alone, I had nothing to defend myself, just hope to find my family and get out of this scenario alive.

"Object detected, identify!", I turned around to a robotic voice.

"Oh f*ck.", they found me, I had no chance, attacking would end in an instant kill.

"My name is....", I started but a sword darted through its middle and pinned it to a wall.

"Don't. Bit risky to be out here without any defence, isn't it?", a tall sporty man pulled the sword out of the wall.

"Uh, thanks.", he smashed it on the ground until it was just a bunch of metal pieces.

"That's my best sword.", he shrugged and looked at me, he had an eye patch under the brown wavy hair, light brown eyes and a young face.

He wore cargo pants, a dirty tank top, black heavy boots and a green headband. He was a bit taller than me, a cheeky grin on his face and a belt with grenades around his chest.

"What are you doing out here alone?"

"Erm, I ran out of food, I hid in a bunker the last days."

"'Kay. Have you found anything?"

"No."

"Pity, anyway, why are you alone?", he looked around the area.

"My family got kidnapped. Just a few days ago."

"That's shit, so you're not working for them, are you?", he looked back at me.

"No."

"We have some food left and a good hideout, you can join us?"

"Can I?!"

"Yeah, you're not very talkative, are you?"

"Erm...."

"Anyway, I can't leave you out here alone with the Toclerfare."

"The what?"

"The drones, you really have no idea, no way I leave you out here."

We started walking for a while, not hiding once.

"How comes you don't hide from them?"

"Why should I? Just stay still and don't breathe. And if they see me, I kill them. They will think you're part of the ruins in case you wanted to ask."

"Oh, good to know."

After an eternity we reached an abandoned bunker, and he opened the door.
