I plumb down on the couch. I kick my feet up and toss my lunch on the coffee table. I turn on the TV and decide to gaze at the screen like some lifeless alcoholic. Nothing is on, unfortunately. I would love to watch Ultimate Survival with Bear Grylls, but seeing that TV show doesn't exist yet, there is no way I'll be watching it any time soon. Besides, when I get to watch it again, I'm not seeing anything new. I've already seen half of the episodes already!

I'm starting to miss my dog and iPhone though... Jesus that sounds pathetic.

"Dom, Matt is here!" my mother's voice echoes through the house. I turn my face to the direction her voice had come from.

"Send him in!" I reply like some kind of lord. Matt enters the living room with a giant grin on his face.

"Jesus, you sound like the Queen herself." he chuckles, sitting down besides me, "what are you watching?"

"Nothing really. Just turned it on."

After I said that I turn off the TV and look at my friend. Matt simply studies my lunch with another grin plastered to his face.

"What?" I ask, whilst grabbing the plate to take a bite of my brie sandwich.

"Brie... you're so gay." Matt laughs and gets up, moving to the kitchen to open the fridge and get himself some milk. He feels so comfortable here, it's so funny to see.

"Sorry for having no manners." he speaks as he sits down besides me again. I shrug and look at my mother for a moment, she doesn't seem to mind Matt opening fridges and cupboards in our house. She only seems to be extremely happy the both of us are friends again.

"Well, you know... If you know your way around this house... Why would I get up and get what you're looking for if you obviously know where we keep it?" I tell him, my mother chuckling as she looks for her car keys.

"I'm leaving now boys! I'll see you in a few days Dom! Don't forget the sun oil!" she says as she throws me the bottle. I catch it skilfully and set it down on the coffee table, looking at Matt.

A few hours passed and Matt and I are currently packing my dad's car to leave to the campsite where Matt and I will be staying for a good five days. I study Matt as he puts his guitar in the trunk, he's so adorable what that long hair.

"What are you looking at?" Matt laughs, bumping his forearm into my chest.

"Dom, let's get your scooter, yes?" my father asks and closes the trunk before he starts to put his self made 'scooter rack' on the tow bar.

I walk my scooter to dad and get in the car. Matt punches my arm again.

"I'm so excited!" he squeals and checks his phone for any text messages, putting the ugly thing back in his pocket a moment after. He smiles widely, moving his hand through my hair in attempt to ruin it. It only makes me laugh. I don't really mind. My hair is a mess already, so...

"Try and amuse yourself on the backseat there, yes? We're leaving." my father says as he starts the engine. I'm so glad my dad wanted to bring us to Leeds. Matt studies my dad for a moment before he looks at me again.

"So how long will we be in the car?" I ask my father, scratching the back of my neck.

"5 hours if we're lucky." my dad replies. An exaggerated sigh comes from deep down my lungs. I study Matt who chuckles some more. It's unbelievable how much I missed that annoying chuckle of his.

It's far, I know, but at least I'll go camping with Matt. For as far as I can remember I stayed home all summer and did nothing but bother people with Tom and Chris. I think this is a way more productive way to spend a summer.
