The atmosphere was heavy and unsettling. No one spoke and my heart pounded louder with each passing second, as if tumbling down a deep valley. My hands trembled and my head hung low. I could feel all the eyes on me.

I glanced at my palms to only be shuddering at them as it was now covered with Jaeyoul's blood. He didn't deserve this, nobody around me did. My head got clouded with guilt and despair.

While the doctor treated him inside the guest room with his team my mind was lingering on the possible perpetrators of this event.

Earlier this morning, I requested Jaeyoul to gather information about Lee Heeseung and his gang. Everything was going smoothly until they unexpectedly showed up at my place for dinner without an invitation. One of Heeseung's men appeared out of nowhere to save me and Jaeyoul from the situation.

Nothing about it fits right...

The door unlocks the doctor along with his team walks out. I get onto my limbs striding up to them. The doctor with his team halts and bows to me.

"How's his condition?" Not forgetting that fact that we brought Jaeyoul through the gates hurriedly his pulse was almost on the verge of disappearing, barely breathing.

The doctor avoids my gaze and looks at Mr.Oh, it snaps my patience and grit angrily.

"I asked you something, Dr. Nam. Quit avoiding my gaze," he said, sighing heavily and looking at me apologetically.

"I apologize, Ms. Shio, for my arrogance," he said, apologizing first. "The young man," he glanced back at the door and then turned to face me.

"He's in a coma," he said. It felt like time froze for me. It was beyond possible for me to comprehend what he had said. It felt like my mind was playing tricks on me.

"What do you mean?" I asked refraining from any gloomy aura.

He breathed heavily before answering me "His ribs are fractured along with his femur, a bullet that almost grazed  his heart, he had immense blood loss" I dug my nails into my palm holding back from shedding tears.
