"I can't believe that you talked me into this." Sherlock said, attempting to load a crib into the trunk of the cab
"It will only be for a few weeks. Maybe a month." John noticed him struggling to close the trunk. "Allow me." He handed the baby to Sherlock pushed the door down. Hamish giggled and bounced in Sherlock's arms. He scowled at the child and the laughter faded. John turned and watched Hamish begin to cry. He quickly snatched the baby from Sherlock. "You must really hate kids."
"Look who's making deductions now!" He got into the cab and slammed the door.

When they had arrived home, Mrs. Hudson was making herself some tea in the kitchen. Sherlock dragged the crib box into the living room and John was following him with Hamish in his arms.
"Oh my!" Mrs. Hudson exclaimed, nearly dropping her teacup. “Who is that child?”
“Hamish.” Sherlock said in an irritated tone.
“He’ll be staying with us for a while. "
"Boys, he can't stay here."
"Why not?" John asked.
"Because of my no children policy."
"But the poor boy has no place to go. And how could you resist this face?" John turned Hamish around so that he was facing her. The baby smiled at his new surroundings.
"Oh fine, but he can only stay for a few weeks."
"Thank you, would you mind watching him while we set up the crib."
"Not your housekeeper, dear." She picked up her teacup and walked out."
