"NO! STOP IT!" A tear rolled down Sherlock's face. "LEAVE HIM ALONE" he shouted.

"Sorry, can't do that." Moriarty chuckled.

"Take me instead!" he begged.

"Well, that is a very tempting offer. Hmmmmmm..... How about, no." Moriarty pulled the gun up to John's head. He laughed as he pulled the trigger and the army doctor fell to the ground.

"NO!" he screamed painfully. Moriarty laughed even harder as he saw Sherlock run to his partner's dead body. The detective looked up at Moriarty with pain in his eyes. It seemed to make him more joyful, but the laughter soon became something else. It sounded as if he was crying, but not in his voice. Overcome with emotional pain, Sherlock shook himself awake from his nightmare. He awoke to the sound of Hamish crying.

"damn baby." He slowly got out of bed and quietly crept over to the crib where Hamish slept, careful not to wake John who was still happily snoozing in their bed. He lifted the baby and cradled him in his arms. "Quiet down. You're going to wake John." Hamish continued to cry. Sherlock gently rocked back and forth and began to hum a tune. His low voice soothed the baby and he soon closed his eyes and went back to sleep. Sherlock held him in his arms a bit longer, to make sure he was still asleep. He laid Hamish back into the crib and slowly tiptoed back to his bed. He pulled his covers up to his chest and closed his drowsy eyes.
