Opening the door to the car, Angelina jumped out before the car could even stop, Nick calling after his wife as she ran toward the house. With shaky hands she unlocked the door, pushing it open in a panic as she entered, eyes darting everywhere.
"Diana!", she called, her nerves growing as her eyes noticed Diana's pair of shoes missing from beside the door.
Nick then came stumbling in the door behind Angelina, the sirens still ringing and the lights flashing from his car as he parked it roughly in the driveway before following after Angelina.
"Diana!", he yelled, both him and Angelina walking further into the house, leaving dirt trails all over the once spotless floors.
The no shoes past the front door rules going straight out the window as the two worried parents searched the house for their daughter.
Growing more worried the more they searched and couldn't find her, Angelina running up the stairs, dirtying the already slightly stained carpet that she'd spent hours trying to scrub the dirt out of a few nights previous.
Dashing for her daughters bedroom door, hoping she was just in a heavy sleep, barging through the door and letting out a small cry of grief when she noticed that the bed was empty.
Turning to go back down stairs, Angelina rushed back down to see if Nick had found her, coming down to see Nick leaving the side door that lead to the basement, not locking it.
The door was usually locked, Diana never having been allowed to go in there, and she'd only questioned why once and never again, it being the secret second rule of the house.
"She's not in her room", Angelina cried to her husband.
"She must be with those lot", Nick huffed, already knowing where to go next, turning to leave through the front door.
"Where are you going?", Angelina asked, already following after him.
"I'm going to check in the woods off of highway five, you're going to stay here", he told her, once again turning to leave the house.
"No!", Angelina sped up to follow after him, angered by his words. "I'm going with you-"
"No, you're not", Nick disagreed, cutting her off, only angering her more.
"Yes, I am!", Angelina huffed, following him outside to his car. "She's my daughter too, i'm not gonna let her get hurt because of you-"
"Because of me!", Nick yelled, some lights in households around the quiet estate flicking on and blinds being pulled awkwardly as the nosey neighbors peaked out at the usually picture perfect couple.
"That's not what I meant", Angelina huffed, regretting the words she chose but knowing there was a slight truth to them.
"Are you sure?", Nick rhetorically questioned, his eyebrows angling down. "Because it sounds like you're blaming me for our daughters disappearance when all the stuff I did was for our daughter and you!", he finished it in a yell.
"I know that!", Angelina spat, her eyes darting around the neighborhood, watching as the blinds quickly closed whenever she caught sight of people looking out.
"I just want her to be okay, i'm scared", Angelina then whispered, not wanting her neighbors knowing her business.
"I know, Angel", Nick sighed, walking closer to his wife. "I'm scared too, but everything will be fine, I promise", he placed his hands onto her face when he reached her, smoothing under her eyes as she brought her hands up to rest on his elbow, in their all too familiar position.
"I'll fix this!", he vowed, pecking her on the fore ahead, then pulling back to look into her eyes as he smoothed under them with his thumb.
"That's why i'm going to go check the woods, while you stay here in case she comes back", he told her his plan, knowing it was a slim chance Diana would come back here, but not wanting Angelina in danger. "Alright?"
Huffing at this, Angelina thought more on it and nodded as best she could with her head in Nicks hands. "Alright."
Leaning in to peck her on the lips once, they held their kiss for a few seconds before pulling back.
"I love you, Angel!", he told her as he got into the car, looking out through the pulled down window.
"I love you!", she teared up, giving him another kiss through the pulled down window before stepping back from the car, hugging herself slightly.
"I'll fix this!", he promised her, beginning to back out of the driveway as he did, pulling out and then speeding off quickly.
Standing outside until she saw his car disappear from her view, Angelina then looked around once more to see her neighbors quickly letting their blinds go.
Rolling her eyes at the Sunnyvalers she turned back around and walked into her house, shutting the door behind her.
Groaning as she was met with the mess of the house, specifically all the dirt marks on littering the once clean floors.
Thinking to herself she then decided on attempting to clean up the dirt from the floors whilst she waited for Diana to hopefully come home.
