Getting worried about her friend, that she may or may not have a crush on, Diana tried pushing her luck.Seeming as her mother hadn't gotten into the car screaming or yelling, maybe it meant she'd be more lenient, or maybe her dad calmed her down enough.
If Diana was in her right mind and not some love stricken worry she most likely wouldn't do what she done next.
"I left my bag at Deenas", she filled the silence, for the first time in forever her mom didn't play music.
"Nice try", was the only thing her mom said as she got passed the sign for Shadyside.
"I need it!", Diana tried again.
"You'll live", her mom grumbled, hands tightening on the steering wheel.
"Could you just tur-"
"No!", she yelled, before taking a breath. "No", she repeated more calmly. "I won't just anything."
Thinking on her words Angelina was silent for a second, stopping herself from looking in the rear view mirror so she wouldn't feel bad seeing the more than likely hurt look on Diana's face.
"You've lost my trust", Angelina said after what felt like minutes. "We're going home! No stops, no nothing. We're doing this my way now."
Neither of the two women spoke the rest of the way home, Angelina just turning on the radio.
And unlike other times when they would jam out together, they just sat in silence as the music filled the car for them.
Pulling up to the house, switching off the car, neither made a move for a moment, Diana was going to follow her mothers movements.
So when her mother took off her seatbelt and opened the door Diana followed doing the same.
Walking up to the door with shaky hands Angelina took out the key and put it in the hole and unlocked it letting the two inside the warm home.
Wiping her feet on the carpet, taking her shoes off and putting them to the side Angelina sighed to herself.
"It's late, I'm going to bed", she told her daughter not even looking at her, trying to keep her anger at bay. "You should get some sleep after the night you've had."
She then left before Diana could get even a word in, trawling up the stairs to her and Nicks room.
Entering the kitchen Diana made way to the fridge, opening it and scouting out for which drink she wanted.
Taking in the few options Water, white wine....huffing when she noticed it hadn't been open.
You'd think that when your gifted wine on special occasions you'd drink it, nope, her parents rarely drank.
