Summary: Kate attempts to give Yelena the all-American Christmas of her dreams. The only problem, though, is her raging crush.

_____________________________"Kate Bishop, we have watched three of these, and I think they are all the same movie," Yelena Belova complained, mouth full of popcorn.
"They are not," Kate countered, swiping a handful of buttery kernels from Yelena's bowl. "The last two had white men with brown hair. This one has a white man with blond hair."
Yelena hummed in indifference, settling back in next to Kate. The two spent this frosty December evening lazed in Kate's apartment, wrapped in fuzzy blankets and sipping on hot chocolate. Kate guided them on an odyssey through the Hallmark channel's greatest holiday hits, and so far, Yelena was unimpressed.
"Is this what Americans do for Christmas?" Yelena asked, setting down her bowl and burrowing further into her candy cane patterned blanket.
"What, watch cheesy movies?"
"No, what is in the movies. Saving the charming small town with a cookie bake off, or whatever."
"No," Kate laughed, "not in my experience."
"Yes, somehow, your experiences are weirder."
"Taking down the Rockefeller tree was a highlight, for sure. But not the norm."
"So? What is the norm?" Yelena leaned back, head lolling over toward Kate.
The brunette chuckled at Yelena's playfully curious expression. "Well, you know... Christmas stuff."
"Kate Bishop," Yelena groaned, "elaborate."
Kate smiled, shaking her head. She glanced over to the other woman, but her piercing yet sincere hazel gaze was enough to send Kate's eyes back to the floor. The sappy movie faded to background noise, and suddenly Kate was painfully aware of just how close Yelena sat, how warmth radiated from her bundled up body.
"Well," Kate started, eyes darting back to study Yelena's face as soon as the blonde's attention returned to the screen. The movie characters were currently covered in flour as they baked, laughing as they stood shoulder to shoulder, leaning in closer...
"Well?"
"Um, there's Christmas caroling, ice skating, looking at lights, all sorts of stuff."
"Baking cookies?" Yelena asked, eyebrow raising as the characters kissed. "Their cookies will not be sanitary."
"Do you want to bake Christmas cookies, Lena?"
"Sure."
"How long are you in town for?"
Pondering, Yelena shoveled another handful of popcorn into her mouth. "As long as it takes for you to show me a proper American Christmas, Kate Bishop."
Not believing her ears, Kate sat up a little straighter, terrified and ecstatic about the prospect of spending the holidays with Yelena. The last year had been rough for both of them, so company was welcome, but Kate could not tell if her massive crush was more of a blessing or a curse. "Yeah? You'd stay for Christmas?"
Smirking, Yelena glanced back over to Kate, voice low. "Yes. It's either your loft or Alexei's trailer, so it's not a hard choice. That is, if you will have me?"
"Yes!" Kate replied, and for a second Yelena's eyes twinkled. "Yep, that's cool. Totally cool."
"Thought so."
Heart pounding, Kate tried her hardest to keep her attention on the screen, but hopelessly failed, as the slowly drooping lids and rosy cheeks of the woman beside her held her attention better than a heterosexual romcom ever could. Simultaneously, Yelena suppressed her grin as she felt Kate's eyes on her, all the while slipping into a peaceful, cozy slumber.
