mattheo's fingers tap against the desk in front of him. him and y/n have been best friends since forever but lately he's been feeling some type of way, and he needs to tell her. he bends over and grabs his notebook out of his backpack and rips a tiny piece of paper off.

he takes the out a pen from his side pocket of the backpack next to him as his bottom lip tugs between his teeth. he chews down on his lip hard as his leg begins bouncing up and down. mattheo drags the pen against the paper as he looks over at the girl thinking of something to write down.

the boy notices how her hair is put up into braids with 2 mini pink bows. a slight smile grows on his face as he notices her nose scrunched up as she works on the assignment in front of her. this helps him think of an idea. he writes down "you're hair is pretty" onto the little peice of lined paper. his handwriting is normally bad, but it's gotten 10 times worse since he's shaking. he quickly folds the paper into a little square as he thinks if he should really do this or not.

after a moment of thinking, mattheo leans back as if he's stretching and places the paper quickly onto the girls desk as he leans back and takes the assignment back out to make it seem like he did nothing at all. he hears the paper crumpling and he turns his head slightly. mattheo notices y/n smiling to herself as she looks up at him. the girls cheeks slightly turn pink as she whispers a thank you. as soon as he looks away thinking that she was gonna just throw it out, she folds it back up as perfect as she can and slides it into the back pocket of her jean shorts.
