Amidst the hushed tranquilly of the university library, Jungkook's footsteps whispered softly against the polished linoleum floors. The quietude of the surroundings set the stage for the emotions swirling within him. He traversed the endless rows of bookshelves, his heart fluttering with anticipation. As Jungkook diligently scanned the titles, a gentle tap on his shoulder made him slightly flinched. He turned to find Yugyeom, presenting the very book he had been seeking. Gratitude welled up within Jungkook as he accepted the book from the corner.
"Thank you," Jungkook expressed, his voice laced with appreciation for Yugyeom's unwavering respect for his boundaries. For just a week, they had formed a bond marked by sweetness and kindness, which, to Jungkook, was a treasure.
Together, they settled at an unassuming table, sharing the library's serene space with a handful of students engrossed in their own pursuits. The silence enveloped them.
In a hushed voice, Yugyeom broke the silence. "Tomorrow is a holiday. Would you like to join me for a movie?"
Jungkook's lips quivered nervously, torn between the desire to expand his horizons and the lingering unease about how Taehyung might react to such an outing. He longed to live life freely and forge new friendships, but he knew he needed time to adjust to his new environment.
"Maybe next holiday," Jungkook replied, his tone gentle and uncertain, though Yugyeom nodded in understanding, accepting his hesitation with grace.
Amid this exchange, a new presence approached, casting a fresh aura over their moment. "Hi, I'm Jinyoung," the newcomer introduced himself, immediately capturing Jungkook's attention.
Jinyoung was a familiar face, an older student, but it was the first time he had approached Jungkook.
Conversations flowed naturally as they shared anecdotes and stories, like pieces of a puzzle falling into place.
Jungkook couldn't help but feel a newfound warmth in his heart, realising that he had forged two unexpected and endearing friendships.
The library, once a quiet haven, had become the backdrop for an unexpected blossoming of camaraderie, and Jungkook tried his best to join in the conversation.
The three boys, Jungkook, Yugyeom, and Jinyoung, began their journey towards their remaining classes. Jungkook, although acquainted with Yugyeom for a week, remained reserved.
There was an unspoken ease in their companionship, a comfortable silence that enveloped them. Jungkook couldn't help but be grateful for the ease with which Yugyeom and Jinyoung had made themselves at home in his world.
As they strolled down the corridor, their collective presence didn't go unnoticed. Two boys, their faces contorted with hostility, locked their gazes on Jungkook.
Yugyeom and Jinyoung, observant and curious, couldn't resist the urge to inquire, "They used to bully you, didn't they?"
Jungkook, his voice barely above a whisper, acknowledged, "They were." His eyes remained fixed on the two boys who had once tormented him. There used to be a third member in that tormenting trio, someone whose absence was now conspicuous.
