A wide smile grew on Eunsook's face as Jungkook and Jimin walked up to her after their classes finished. When she asked if they wanted to go for ice cream, Jungkook readily agreed while Jimin said he was going to practice for the talent show."Are you not participating?" Jimin menacingly asked Jungkook. "I'm telling you, you have to!"
"Why should-"
"Oh, I would really like to hear you sing on stage," Eunsook said with sparkling eyes, making Jungkook swallow his words.
"You are?"
She nodded enthusiastically. "I overheard some people talking about your voice and I was curious ever since actually."
Jungkook pushed down the feelings that were flowing up and cleared his throat, sighing. "Well, if you're really curious, maybe singing at the talent show could be fine."
Jimin eyed him in disgust and betrayal before running off, heading to an empty practice room. He suddenly remembered the auditorium was empty around this time and decided to head there to get used to the stage more. When he pushed the door open, he was greeted with a classical music and a girl dressed in a white shirt and a long skirt dancing ballet on the huge stage alone.
The lone figure was the pinnacle of grace. Her slender limbs slowly moved around to the music, painting a beautiful scenery with their movements. Sometimes she looked like a swan. Sometimes she looked like a flower. But to him, she looked like a beautiful and delicate snowflake dancing around in the winter sky, gently flowing in the breeze.
He did not realize he was staring at her for a long time as if he was hypnotized until she stopped when their eyes met. Realization dawned upon both of them when they saw each other's faces.
"Oh! You're-!"
"Oh, hello? Jimin, right? I'm Saejin, remember me?"
His heart jumped when she remembered his name. "Y-Yes! I'm very surprised! Do you go here?"
She nodded with a smile and stepped closer to the edge of the stage as he moved closer to her as well. "I study here, actually. You, too?"
'What a small world,' he thought, and most of his other thoughts were of her beauty and kindness in the way that she spoke and the way that she smiled. Seeing her somehow made his day hundred times better and talking to her made it thousand times better.
"It's weird how we never ran into each other when we both study dance," she said, pouting, and Jimin could feel his heart clench at how cute she was. He questioned whether he was falling in love only at the second meeting because that was absurd. But Saejin somehow seemed easy to fall in love with.
"If we're both dance students, we should be friends!" Saejin grinned at him, and he was in awe of how forward she was with him, although usually he was like that, but it was not easy with her. He happily followed her lead.
The door creaked open and another man walked in, stealing their attention. A tall, cold looking man with snow white skin, sharp dark features and gracefully built body. A vampire? A prince? He looked between Saejin and Jimin, a little lost.
"Ah, Sunghoon, this is my classmate and friend, Jimin," Saejin introduced the two. "Jimin, this is my best friend Sunghoon. He's a figure skater."
The words 'best friend' received different reactions from the two men but both hid them well, especially Sunghoon who always kept an unfazed demeanor around strangers. Sunghoon and Jimin greeted their exchanges, making Saejin smile wider as she liked it when people made friends with each other.
"Sae, can you come to the practice for the national competition today? I need some eyes to pick out my mistakes and stiffness," Sunghoon said, making Jimin widen his eyes.
'National competition'?!
"Oh, sure sure. Happy to help," she cheered and walked off the stage and stopped next to Jimin. "It seems you wanted to use the stage, it's all yours now. Hope we can see each other again soon!"
Jimin watched the two walk out of the room together and sighed. "That's a tough competition..."
While Jimin would practice his dance alone, Jungkook and Eunsook would spend time together eating outside and studying alone in empty classrooms. Eunsook would draw and Jungkook would write lyrics, and they both would review the other's drafts and give encouragement until it became a routine to both. The air between them would be full of comfort and people outside would see that through the initial attraction when they were together.
Jungkook would offer to accompany her home whenever it got late since her home was far from university. When she got home, Eunsook would doodle again on her canvases. As her muse, Taehyung was less and less available to meet, her thoughts were occupied with a new face. Her fingers would unknowingly stroke the white canvas to draw Jungkook and her mind would linger on his features.
At first, she was too shy to ask to take pictures of him for her drawings, so imagination was her only tool. But when she brought up her want to draw him, Jungkook was flushed pink and flustered, but convinced himself that artists would randomly choose people to draw.
It was all so transparent to Jimin who would willingly leave them alone. He had a different agenda to attend to. He would go to the auditorium stage in hopes to run into Saejin again, but alas, his timing was always off, finding himself alone there.
But he never imagined that she would be the one to come to his class seeking him. Saejin asked around and finally found him after his class to which Jimin stood in front of her, shell shocked, and questioning reality as she grinned in glee.
"Hey, Jimin. If you're free, do you want to go to a cafe or something?"
His heart pounded in his chest and he was in awe of how forward she was again. If she did not ask that, he would have spent days trying to do so.
"M-Me?" He stupidly asked and he was aware he was being foolish, but he could not believe she was expressing her interest so quickly.
"Of course! We're friends! Why? Are you reconsidering our friendship?" She pouted a little.
"No! I mean I would like to hang out, of course!"
She smiled warmly and it made him smile, too.
"Let's go, friend."
