Shared Emotion

Aether lay in bed thinking about what had happened earlier he felt bad he couldn't respond to him the king had noticed Aether was gone and made him go back to dance with the foreign nobles. Aether couldn't enjoy the rest of his night xiao seemed to disappear after that, he wanted Xiao close he still wanted to talk. Aether eventually fell asleep Xiao on his mind.

Xiao, on the other hand, had left when Aether walked back into the ballroom he didn't want to face Aether after saying what he said he thought the worst and he wasn't used to it, he was such a focused and devoted knight for the prince he couldn't believe he had said such a thing to him.

10:45 at night Xiao had finally fought with his thoughts and went to see Aether he couldn't just leave the prince like he had it wasn't right. Xiao softly knocked on Aether's door there was no answer

"M-my prince? May I come in?"

Xiao softly knocked on the door again slowly opening it, he saw Aether lying in his bed turned away from him, Xiao's heart raced he thought he may have made the prince mad or upset and that worried him, xiao closed the door behind him and slowly walked to aethers side.

"Prince Aether?"

Again there was no answer, was he really that upset? Xiao leaned over Aether to look at his face

"Oh... he's asleep"

Xiao sighed taking a breath of relief and sat on the bed next to the sleeping prince. He stayed for a while just watching the prince sleep gently playing with his hair and eventually fell asleep beside him.

3:18 Aether woke up he felt warm it was nice he turned into the warmth but froze when he saw it was Xiao, he wasn't expecting it but leaned in any way to cuddle he kept glancing up at Xiao to check if he was still asleep, he was happy but disappointed that xiao was asleep he looked so peaceful but aether wanted xiao to hold him, and play with his hair like xiao had done before to help him sleep in past years.

Xiao started to stir in his sleep, this made Aether panic he quickly closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep. Xiao slowly woke up looking around the room before down at Aether, this time Xiao panicked he hoped that Aether didn't catch him like this.

"Shit.... It's fine... he's asleep"

Xaio whispered to himself as he slowly left the prince's room, completely embarrassed at his actions.

"Dumb dumb! I can't believe you did that..."

Aether sat up as soon as he heard the door closed he felt sad that Xiao left but couldn't help but laugh at the way he talked to himself it was rather cute.

Aether got up and opened the door quietly and peeked out into the hallway it was empty and quiet, aether then went to look for Xiao, since he had left abruptly earlier he checked in the kitchen and even knocked on Xiao's door but only silence was the answer aether was starting to get worried.

"Xiao!?"

Aether opened Xiao's door only to be greeted with a shirtless Xiao

"Aether!"

Aether squealed and slammed the door shut behind him xiao hadn't heard him knocking on his door aether covered his eyes but stayed in the room which was a bit awkward for Xiao

"Aether..?"

Aether heard Xiao's footsteps come closer to him almost trapping him to the door aether kept his eyes closed shut and his hands covering his face, he didn't understand why he was so flustered he'd been with Xiao for years so seeing him shirtless shouldn't make him feel this way

"What are you doing in here?"

Xiao's voice startled Aether making him flinch

"I-I I went looking for you... you left my room so abruptly..."

Xiao moved Aether's hand away from his face

"How did you know I was in your room? You were asleep...."

Aether's eyes widened he had given himself away, the two stared at each other no words were spoken but tons of emotions were shared. Slowly the gap between them faded they got closer their faces close their lips almost touching... and finally their lips met and they shared a soft kiss. The kiss didn't last long as soon as Xiao realized what was going on he pulled away
