Y/n's parents sold her to hydra when she was only 3. When she turned 8, they started running tests on her and injecting her with things to help quicken the affects of her powers and show her soulmarks faster.
Y/n had 24 Soulmarks which meant she had 24 soulmates. Her marks appeared when she was 10, and by the time she was 12 her powers started going into affect but only 3/4 being, matter manipulation, regeneration and mimickation.
This meant that the scientists who tested on her thought these were her only powers and thus the only ones she trained to use. Y/n is trained in her powers to know how to use them but not very successfully, just enough so the scientists can see what she can do but so shes not strong enough to break out.
Day and night y/n was tested on, experimented on, and over worked till she passed out. This happened her whole life as soon as she woke up she would be back at it.
She was tormented by ever scientist because her powers were seemingly not strong enough to do anything good but y/n just held back because she knew (thought) she would never get out.
