F O U R "can i get your number?"
AURORA HAD TO arrive at the airport today before her match, she needed to be there as soon as possible
she was excited. aurora was also extremely nervous, the people she would be going against had more practice
and overall better technique then her. so if she beats them, she would accomplish a lot. it was a huge competition
she never thought she would go pro, but here she was heading to japan, her family watching over tv
she was finishing college online, so she could focus more on tennis. even if she wished she didn't focus on tennis more
maybe this competition would change her mind. she had some time before the airport, so she decided to practice
arriving at the court, she was practicing with a machine that passed the ball to her, which made her annoyed as it wasn't easy
but eventually after a little while she groaned in annoyance, turning off the machine before sliding her hands down her face
"stressed?" a familiar voice asked as she smiled "maybe a little" she responded turning around to see the curly head boy
"your going to toyko right?" he asked as he set down his equipment next to hers "yeah in a few hours" she spoke as he nodded
"not at the airport?" he asked with a laugh as she shrugged "i have to practice before i compete" she smiled at the boy
"then let's practice!" he replied clapping his hands together as he got out his racket and headed out to the other side
she served and he hit back to her, both of them hitting the small tennis ball back and forth until he didn't hit it back being late to it
she cheered as she looked up the sky, laughing as she finally won. "i'm better!" she yelled as he rolled his eyes laughing
he walked over to her side and went over to the girl, she watched him carefully as he stepped closer to her
he moved his hands onto hers and went behind her, showing her a new technique she could use to help her out
"if you do this, you have a higher chance of winning" he said as he helped guide her through a pass, which made her smile
"thanks, ben." she spoke as he smiled at her, the sun making his eyes pop out, "are you nervous?" he asked
she nodded her head "honestly, i feel like this is my last hope" she said truthfully, laughing
he furrowed his eyebrows "last hope?" he asked confused as she sighed "this sport was my everything.. and now i don't feel like i need it anymore. you know?" she spoke looking at him
he nodded understanding "yeah, i didn't see myself in this sport. it was my dads thing so i let him have it. started playing and making a career out of it" he spoke as she smiled
"but with the right people.. and the right coaches. you'll fall more in love with it" he continued as she listened
"maybe all you need is a better supportive team." he spoke as she looked down "you never told me who your coach is"
"bryan shelton, my dad" he spoke as she nodded "oh cool" she responded, she didn't wanna ask for his dad to be her coach
because truely she wouldn't know how she would feel after this competition "you know i could ask him to teach you a couple of time" he suggested
"thanks for the offer. i don't know how i'll feel after this competition" she said as he nodded his head
"i should get going tho.. can't miss my flight" she said laughing softly
he smiled at the girl, "can i get your number?" he asked as she blushed nodding her head, handing his phone to her
exchanging numbers, they said their goodbyes as they parted ways. she didn't know she would be seeing him on the same flight, or was it the same competition?
she boarded her plane and sighed in boredom before receiving a text message from ben, playing imsg until she decided she wanted to take a nap
they both had a big day the next day, and maybe they should've been thinking about the competition
