Chakram Reborn: Christmas Surprises (S2E11)

Chapter 4: Zara Watches Kira, Xena's Gives Maxie Advice and Joxer Talks to Vince

The next day at the ranch, Kira puts ornaments on the Christmas tree, hanging each one with care. She looks down at an ornament that belonged to Zara, smiles and says, "You loved Christmas." Kira puts the ornament on the tree and looks down at the ornaments that she had for the girls. She puts a small ornament of a medical bag on the tree and says, "Dr. Beth!" Kira smirks and says. "That she is now!" Kira then picks up an ornament that looks like books and says, "Sydney for sure!" Kira then hangs it on the tree, smiles then says, "A history scholar true and true! Oh and an Amazon queen!" Kira then looks at an ornament that resembles a sketch book and says, "Jessie the artist!" She hangs it on the tree and then says, "And a warrior princess!" Kira sits down and looks out the window and says, "Your girls are so amazing, Zara. I hope you can see what they've become!"

All of the sudden, the spirit of Zara appears. She looks at the almost decorated Christmas tree, then at her younger sister. She smiles then says, "I am so proud of them, Kira."

A tear starts to roll down Kira's face as she then says, "I am so sorry about what happened all those years ago. If I could take it all back, I would change everything. The thing is, now, I'm in love with him. Please forgive me, Zara." Zara appears next to her younger sister, takes her hand and gently rubs it on the side of her face. Kira feels a gentle touch and turns her head to see nothing. She smirks a bit and then continues decorating the Christmas tree.

Later that day, Xena rides Blaze into the barn, "Good girl!" Xena says as she gets off of Blaze and starts taking her saddle off. "That was a great ride, wasn't it girl!" Blaze nays in agreement.

Maxie walks in and sees Xena and Blaze. She walks over to them and says, "Hey there Xena, hi Blaze! How's my pretty girl doing?"

Blaze nuzzles Maxie's nose and she giggles a bit. "Did you have a great ride?" Maxie asks.

"Of course we did! Isn't that right Blaze!" Xena says as she takes Blaze's saddle off and sits it on her stable door. "So, how's vet school going?"

"Oh good, I'm learning a lot about each animal! You know the ins & outs and stuff." Maxie says with excitement.

"Well that's great!" Xena says. "You know, my oldest sister is a medical doctor."

"Yeah! That's so awesome!" Maxie says. "Hey Xena, can I ask you a question?"

"Sure Maxie. What is it?" Xena says.

"Do you think I'm ready for a baby?" Maxie asks.

"Are you?" Xena asks.

"Yeah, I think I'm ready." Maxie says.

"Then go for it." Xena says smiling.

"It's a big decision." Maxie says.

"Yeah, it is, Maxie." Xena says. "Have you brought it up to Joxer?"

"Sort of." Maxie says.

"Just remember, you both need to be on the same page about this." Xena says, smiling at Maxie as she then walks out of the stables. Maxie goes to pet Blaze again and says, "We do need to be on the same page about this." Maxie hands Blaze an apple and then walks out of the stables.

Later that day, Joxer walks into State Senator Byron's office to see Vince sitting at his chair. Joxer looks at him and says, "Hi Vince."

Vince looks up from his laptop and says, "Why Joxer! This is a great surprise! How have you been?"

"Ok Vince, how have you been?" Joxer asks.

"Good, good. So what brings you here today." Vince says.

"Is Senator Byron here?" Joxer asks.

"No, no he isn't. He's in Washington D.C. right now. Is anything wrong?" Vince asks.

Joxer sits on a chair across from him and says, "Can I ask you something."

"Why sure Joxer, what is it?" Vince says.

"I want to try and patch things up between Maxie and her mom." Joxer says.

Vince sighs and asks, "Why's that, Joxer?"

"I want to do this, but I need the Senator to be there." Joxer says.

"You know, Maxie still harbors resentment over the fact that Mrs. Byron ignored her her whole life over Maxie being a girl instead of a boy."

"I know, I know." Joxer says looking around the office. "Vince, do you think we should have a baby?"

"Woah! That's a deep question there." Vince says. What brought that on."

"Maxie brought up the idea." Joxer says.

"And?" Vince asks.

"I don't know." Joxer says. "I guess she sort of blindsided me at the time."

"Joxer, when the time is right, go for it." Vince says. "One thing at a time. Things between Maxie and Mrs. Byron will work out."

"Think so?" Joxer asks.

"It will, Joxer. It will." Vince says.

"I don't want Alex sticking her nose in this!" Joxer says adamantly.

"Alex is off in California "finding herself." Vince says with his hands in quotations.

"Finding what? A guy! Lord help him." Joxer says giggling.

"She's on some sort of spiritual quest to be a better person, I guess." Vince says.

"Well, I hope it works, because she needs it." Joxer says.

"Yes she does, Joxer, yes she does." Vince says. "I will let Senator Byron know you stopped by."

"Thanks Vince." Joxer says as he gets up off his chair.

"Keep me posted Joxer." Vince says.

"I will Vice, and thanks for the advice." Joxer says.
