𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐑𝐀'𝐒 𝐁𝐎𝐗
STRONG GIRL NAM-SOONsurvivors have scars;
victims have graves
There are only so many dead eyes you can look into before you bear witness to the desolation of your human spirit. And there's only so much innocence and strength left in you before it too becomes another casualty and is stripped of you to your bones, leaving you are as lost as a newborn, ready to be rebuilt on the ashes of who you once were.
It's like shedding a heavy skin. It leaves one empty yet burdened, severed from an intangible essence that has no name or purpose. The willing dismantling of a fragment of oneself becomes a cathartic dance ━━ an offering at the altar of survival and self-destruction.
And, to be entirely honest, it's better than the alternative. As this journey, however harrowing, emerges as a preferable odyssey.
It rises above having regret twisting in your gut like freshly swallowed poison every time you take a life so you can live for another day, all whilst it feeds on your grip on reality. It rises above having the ugly beast of guilt and anguish eat away at your soul bit by bit, day by day, until all that's left of you is a hollow shell.
To Jae-yi, the poignant answer to these existential quandaries lay in accepting the brutal reality ━━ in the world's indifference and the raw power embedded in personal choices. While it might be convenient to blame fate, destiny, god, or some devil lurking in the shadows, the truth will forever be that it was your choice.
While a person who has never seen blood that is not inherently and unofficially theirs may consider such acts cruel and deplorable ━━ Survival transcends judgment. When someone puts a gun in your hands and asks you to shoot, you are the one who gets to make the choice ━━ them or you, and then count just how many lives they spare.
In this crucible of survival, the choices are stark, the consequences graven. Decisions become both a burden and an opportunity for metamorphosis. The pivotal choice would, however, remain same: letting those decisions fester like black mold within the heart or assimilating them into a tapestry of strength. It was exactly this internal alchemy, this transformation, that had fortified Jae-yi in her survival.
So, to be marked by the indelible stain of blood, a testament to the exigencies of survival, to evolve into a masterful orchestrator of this macabre ballet, where she navigated in a world drenched in cruelty and choice... it sets the stage for the revelation of an perfect asset for Pavel: The Russian mafia, if only it wasn't for the one obvious, glaring flaw that revealed during the final test ━━ the inability to raise a gun against one boy that mirrored her own shadows.
The boy who had set on being a haunting reminder that even in the ruthless symphony of survival, some connections transcend the brutal pragmatism of the choices she has become accustomed to making.

𓂀 𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐑'𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄: so before you start this, let me inform you that I do not like the show. the characters seemed cringe af, but it would've been so much better if they had some personality. which is exactly what I am doing here, trying to give them some flavour to their bland characters and while I am at it, make a fic for my reluctant bias, who, tbh, when not in presence of heroine has some growth.
