Ch 1: A mail?

It was around 6 am in the Park household. "Soomin-ah, wake up or else you'll be late, that too on your first day", shouted a lady. "Yeah, I'll be down in 15.", replied someone probably named Soomin. You must be wondering what's all this about first day and getting late. Well, let me wind back the camera to 15 days ago. It was a windy October day, precisely, 12th October 2023. Exactly 12 days after Soomin's birthday. It was around 2 pm and Soomin was in Baekryeong Café. The reason why I'm telling you the details is because Soomin insisted me to, as it was one of the best days of her life. In Baekryeong Café, while sipping on some iced americano, she received a mail, from the headquarters of Daisung Group. Sent by the HR department, the mail said the following,

Dear Soomin Park,

We, at Daisung Group, would like to announce that you have officially passed the 2nd level of the interview that took place at our headquarters in Seoul on 30th September, 2023. You are now appointed as the personal secretary of the CEO of Daisung Group.

Your date of joining is 20th October, 2023. We expect a timely response and a fruitful work life with you.

Kindly find attached details regarding your employment information.

Jumping excitedly, she read the mail at least 5 times as she couldn't believe her eyes. Soomin rushed home, or should I say, to her aunt's home, to spread the news about her acceptance letter. She reached and shouted to call her eomma, as she would call her aunt, "Eomma, where are you? Guess what?!". Her aunt, came to her and asked, "What happened? Why are you shouting? Is everything alright?".

"Yes, yes, yes. Remember I went to Seoul for my job interview?".

"Yes, I remember, what about it?"

"I got selected!"

"What?! Really! Oh my god, dear, I'm so proud of you, well done!", said her aunt while she hugged her.

Her aunt asked her tons of questions while Soomin just smiled.

"So when is your date of joining?"

"Will we shift to Seoul?"

"Which position have you gotten?"

"How much is your salary?"

"Who is your boss?"

"Is the new company a good one?", etc.

Soomin held her aunt's shoulders and told her to sit down, "Eomma, relax. I'll tell you everything. It seems as if you got the job instead of me. And I'll join on the 20th." Her aunt nodded her head and signalled her to continue. Soomin continued while sipping on some water, "So, as I said, my first day will be 20th October 2023, which is almost a week from now. About moving to Seoul, I will have to look for apartments which I will do starting tomorrow. Thirdly, I am the personal secretary of the CEO of Daisung Group. Daisung Group is the company. I'm not sure about my boss but I'll earn, starting at roughly 1 million won monthly. They have said that my salary can also increase to 9 million won per month. But to reach that, I would have to work as not just the personal assistant but many other roles. Yes, this company is in the top 3 in Korea and top 10 in the entire world." Her aunt's jaw dropped after hearing everything and she congratulated her and rushed to the kitchen as they could smell something burn. She relaxed on the couch and began calling her best friend, Hyunwoo. She told him about it and he told her that he knew a few apartments in Seoul and he could help her pick houses. Then after a few days, she went to Seoul and began searching for apartments. After a few days, on the 18th, she finally found the perfect flat, 403 in Queens Apartments.
