A Glitch in the System

Purple Bunnies, the Circus, and Memories

You feel yourself waking up, and then stare at all these characters from this weird game. You all seem to be in the same spot as when you passed out. Why is this game so realistic? How does this game seem so old and look this good still? You reach to get the headset off, but its not there. Why can't you feel it? Are you imagining things? You keep trying to get this thing off your head, feeling like your face is going to peel off. The purple rabbit character snickers a little and says, "Go on, keep trying. That works all the time. Let us know if it works."

"Shut the [bleep], rabbit!" you yell, aggravated, "I'm getting out of this god[bleep] game somehow. It's just some weird game and... wait. What's happening with my words?"

The pair of dentures with his eyeballs inside begins talking. "I'm sorry, but there's none of those terrible words allowed here. We want to appeal to all audiences."

"You mean, I can't say [bleep]?" you say, shocked you couldn't even say the lightest of curses. "What about [bleep]? [Bleep]? [Bleep]? [Bleep]? [Bleep]? [Bleep]?" 

"You'll break through the censoring eventually," the purple bunny snickers again. "Hey Caine, what should we name them?"

"What do you mean 'name me'? You could've just asked for my name. I'm a person after all," you tell him, offended. "After all, it's a nice name. It's..." and your mind blanks. What? Did you really just forget your name? "My name is- what is my name? Why can't I remember it? " you asked yourself, panicking more and more.

The small jester tugs at your outfit and says worryingly, "Y-you won't remember your name, none of us can. If you want, Caine can come up with a name. That's what he did with me, my name is Pomni."

The purple bunny laughs a little more and states, "What about Glitchy? I mean, you should really look at yourself," he grins even wider, laughing. Looking down at your hands, they have this weird glitch effect on them, and the rest of your body it seems. You try to calm down and notice that if you calm down a little, the glitch effect seems to lessen. 

" What the [bleep] is this?"  You look around at these characters and see that they know what's going on. "Okay," you say, trying to remain calm, "What is going on? Why am I here? How do I get out? Is there a certain way to leave this game or what?"

The Ragdoll gets a look on her face and walks towards you. She places a hand on your shoulder and says, "There isn't a way to get out as far as the rest of us know. We've all been here for... a while. You ended up here because of that headset you have on."

You can feel the stress slowly rising in you. Did that manager actually know what this thing was? Is that why he was so eager to get rid of it? You knew he seemed sleazy, but not this sleazy.

 "Anyway," the set of teeth interrupts your thoughts, "what do you think of Glitchy? Like Pomni said, I normally name the new players, but I think it fits your... personality."

You can feel your eye twitch, or maybe it glitched. You can't be sure at this point. "I think they should be Glitchy. Maybe you can teleport? You could mess with people that way. Wouldn't that be greeeaaat?" the purple rabbit teased. You weren't sure how to feel about him. "I'm Jax by the way, I think we'll have a lot of fun together," the rabbit smirked as he put his hand out to shake. You put your small hand into his and sheepishly shook it.

"Yeah, I guess Glitch works. Nice to meet you, um, all. Is there really no way out though? Are you sure?" you asked hesitantly.

Pomni replied, "No, there's not. Caine tried to put exit doors to make us feel better but they don't lead to anywhere good. So don't go crazy from those if you can help it."

What is this world? You turn to the set of teeth, who you assume is Caine and say, "What are we supposed to do here exactly? It seems kind of... boring here. And why can't we go? Is that your doing?"

Jax snickered a little and interrupted, "Look at the new member asking the important questions. I think you'll be fun to annoy," somehow smiling wider.

The mess of blocks smacked Jax in the back of the head and said, "Shut up Jax," then turned to you. "Don't mind him, he's always like that. We're supposed to play 'Caine's Adventures', eat, and sleep. It's as fun as it sounds."

Caine floated down to you and said, "It is fun if you actually participate, unlike some people. Not to mention anyone," looking directly at Jax. "Speaking of participating, I think we should start a game!"
