It's a hot spring day, the sounds of all the unique kinds of cicadas buzzing in nearby trees, the grasshoppers hopping between the fields of grass and the sun was beaming onto my pale skin.

I was busy picking out different shades of the short green grass out of its roots next to our folded chairs and cooler that was filled with sandwiches and different sodas to choose from.

Today, we were having an exciting day at the biggest lake in our town, it was extremely popular due to its size.

But, it was mainly empty today, seeing that it was a Monday....only being me, my mom, my dad and my adorable dog Kkami..there was another small family here as well, I didn't pay them any mind but Kkami wouldn't stop barking at them.

So, I had to drag the Chihuahua closer to me and try to distract him by playing with him, feeding him some of the grass I picked out and it did help a little.

Today was a school day for me, however I got to skip today. I'm currently in 7th grade and totally going to be bragging to everyone about this tomorrow, saying how I got to go to the most amazing lake ever while they're busy learning stupid math!

My mom and dad told me they would go swimming in the lake while I watched my dog.

They had left us to go into the water about 10 minutes ago...they were taking quite a long time though, which left me a bit concerned, them saying "We'll be back in 5 minutes" right before they walked off..and it was certainly passed 5 minutes.

I lifted my head up and turned towards the direction of the lake, Kkami still cuddling up in my small arms.

I squinted my eyes to try and find my parents but my eyesight was pretty bad, so I stepped a bit closer and finally spotted them, my face lighting up with a huge smile.

I began shouting out to them, "Mom!! Dad!..Why are you guys taking so long?" I giggled and stepped even closer, the clear cold water of the lake now washing over my feet "Are you guys playing? It looks fun. I want to join!!"

My parents were next to each other in the deep waters, their arms waving around and the water was splashing in all kinds of directions, it looked like they were playing some type of game and I began laughing while jumping up and down.

I wanted to play with them so bad.

Then Kkami began to bark, I looked down at him and he was barking at mom and dad. "That's not nice! Why are you barking at them?" I frowned and looked up again.

This time dad wasn't in sight anymore.

"Hey?..Where's dad?" My eyes daggered across the whole lake to try and spot where he was but I couldn't see him anywhere...but he was just right next to mom? Are they playing hide and seek in the water?

My eyes then locked back to where mom was, she wasn't splashing around anymore and it looked like her body was slowly sinking? Her arms slowly went under with her whole body as well.

That's when I finally realized what was happening and Kkami started to bark even more, squirming around in my arms.

I let out an loud ear bleeding scream and dropped Kkami out of my arms, now running into the lake.
