The nightmare begins

Ch.3

Max pov.

I woke up with a startle, focusing on slowing my breathing. I had a dream, well more like a nightmare about sky our older brother, he and I were being chased by erasers. Half- wolf half -human all predators, monsters. He gone, been missing for over 2 years. Jeb was here for the first year Sky was gone, but now it only me and the flock. The flock are me and 5 other kids, we aren't like other kids, who have parents, school or homework. We well are.. we are kinda amazing, we are genetically engineered to have wings and have heightened abilities. How did we get these awesome abilities? We got them from the most vile scientists ever, We were test subjects, experiments to these monsters. But now we live up in the mountains in a reasonable sized house, it hang just a little off the edge of the face of a  mountain. But here we are safe, here we are free to fly. Not in a small dog cage, where every day is a hellish nightmare. Here we are free, we can feel the warmth of the sunlight, the coolness of the breeze, and be happy. Now that I was somewhat up, sitting on my warm bed, but the day has started so I might get up and do some things. Getting out of bed making my way to my closet somehow Nudge did the laundry last night. So I was able to wear skinny jeans, and a black T-shirt. Now done with getting ready for the day, I walked down to the kitchen. As I looked for some food, hoping the fairies of food came, but alas nothing I could make. Then I heard some shuffling of feet coming towards the kitchen table and sat down on one of the chairs. "Good morning Max" said a sleepy gasman. "Good morning gassy" I say walking over to him to give him a kiss on the forehead. "What's for breakfast?" Gasman asked  "it"s a surprise." "  I can pour some juice, to help?" "Sure Gassy" gasman got up from his seat to the refrigerator. Then came a groan from the hallway, "mornings Iggy" I said to a close eyed iggy I might have also been a little to chipper because what he replied with was "bite me" and flopped down on the living room couch. So now I was look in the pantry closet trying to find something edible, then I felt my hairs on the back of my neck stand up, turning around to glare at the shadow man himself Fang. "Can you quit that?" I chided. "Quit what, breathing" Fang said with a smirk. "I'll make some eggs" Iggy said. Why you ask am I allowing the blind guy to cook? Because he can, and I can't, simple as that. As I watch the boys make breakfast, I announce that I will go wake up the girls. So turning to the hallway toward the bedrooms, I come upon the door that the two younger girls were sleep in.  Walking in I saw was nudge sleeping with her mouth closed the only time she is quiet is when she is asleep, any time she's awake it's talk, talk, and more talk with her. But that's nudge for you. "Come on nudge up and adam." I say but the only answer I get is a tired moan. Sighing I walked over to angel's corner, angel's corner was her bed with a pink canopy tent that covered her whole bed. I stop at the side of the bed and move the canopy out of the way and then I saw was angel all up and getting dressed. "Hi angel"

"Hi max, could you help me with the buttons on the back?" Angel asked "Of course" I told Angel, as she turn around facing her back to me. I took care of Angel after Sky left, well Sky took care of all of us, he made sure we had food, clothes and a place to feel save. But when he disappeared, Jed and I took over being the leader. But still I love angel she is and always will be my baby girl. After angel was done with getting dressed she and I walked to the kitchen to have breakfast, which at this point Iggy had made some scrambled eggs, and gasman with help from fang had set the table.  So now we all sitting and enjoying some delicious food and listening to Nudge as she talks about anything and everything under the sun. That is until she needed to take a breath and angel asked if she could go on a walk to the strawberry patch, and then Gassy said he would go with her which I said we would all go it would be good for us. 

The sun was shining and warm with a nice breeze, angel walked with be holding my hand as we came down to the wild strawberry patch. The wild strawberry smelled sweet and  were big and ripe. So we began picking them, I may have eaten some but I'm not going to tell. Then all of a sudden Angel screamed out in terror. I looked up from picking to see Angel my baby in an Erasers claws trying to put her in a bag. I yelled diving at the Erasers who had Angel but was roughly, grabbed and thrown back kicked in the stomach had me gasping for air. When I looked up at the furry face monster it said this "hi max long time no see" my eyes widen when I realized who the erasers was it was Ari, now as an eraser.
