SOMEONE POKED AT YOUR face. "hey, wake up. hey! l/n!" your eyes slowly opened.
"seriously, again? what'd i tell you about sleeping on the job?!" your supervisor scolded as you rubbed your eyes. "sorry boss, i..i had a couple drinks last night-" "a couple?? christ l/n, you smell like a bar! that's another thing i told you not to do, drink on a work night!" he continued. you were barely processing what he was saying, you were too hungover. he just kept yapping and yapping.."are you even listening?! you know what- i can't do this anymore, you're fired." you perked up, narrowing your eyebrows. he doesn't even have the power to do that! or does he? you couldn't remember. "fine! i don't need this job anyways! i hate watching over kids anyways!" you exclaimed, flipping over the table you were sitting at. the kids and others in the mall looked at you as you continued to ruin the property. a security guard held you back from doing anymore damage to the property or your career. your supervisor pulled out a walkie-talkie and began talking into it.

you walked into the office of your boss and took a seat. you weren't the only one in there, however. there was another guy in one of the seats, and you recognized him instantly. "what the hell did you do, mike?" you asked, taking a seat. "i can ask the same thing" he replied, looking at you. your boss, steve raglan, sat down in his seat and looked at the two of you. "i'm just..really disappointed. to think that an employee of mine would intentionally destroy property" he looked at you. "or tackle a kid's father into a fountain. you're lucky they didn't press charges!" he looked at mike.
"sorry- no, i thought that kid was being taken" mike explained. "that doesn't change what you did, mike! there aren't any excuses for neither of you!" steve opened two folders, looking over them. "i'll have to fire you both, i'm sor-" his voice quieted down as he read what was in one of the folders. "yep, knew it" you muttered, standing up and heading towards the door. "wait a second, l/n" steve said, making you stop in your tracks. "what is it now? you wanna add salt to injury, mr. raglan?" you spoke, irritated. "i won't just leave you to fend for yourself. i have a proposition for the two of you, if you'll listen" steve said, smiling as you took a seat.

"that's just insane! being nightguards at an abandoned pizzeria? yeah, maybe if i was crazy! the pay's not even good!" you ranted to mike, who looked down at his card. "anyways, seeing that we're sane individuals and we WON'T be taking that job, this is goodbye" you stated. "uh, yeah, get home safe" mike said as you walked to your car, got in, and drove off to your house. meanwhile, mike looked at the card once more as he got into his car and drove home.
