Ch. 18

Jessica's falling finally came to a completely. She laid in the middle of the road barely conscious and having a car barely miss her. The owner of the car got out and ran to Jessica.

"Are you okay." The lady asked. Jessica squinted her ass and stayed in the same position without saying a word. "We gotta get you to a hospital." Prince and Ray came trampling down the hill to Jessica.

Prince picked up a big, thick, branch and gripped it hard. "Get away from her!" Prince ordered swinging at the lady. The lady jumped up and did what Prince said. "I was only trying to help. I swear." The lady said backing away.

"She's fine. We got her." Prince said slowly walking to Jessica keeping focus on the lady. "Prince she's not fine." Ray said. "Shut the fuck up Ray! My girlfriend is fine!" Prince yelled. "Prince.. That's your name?" The lady said. "My name is Linda and whoever you kids are running from i'll keep you safe from them. Just let me take this girl to get some help." Prince just looked at Linda.

"I know y'all are at least hungry. I will protect y'all. I promise." Linda continued. Prince looked at Linda then Jessica.

Prince looked at Jessica laying in the hospital bed. He sat by her and held her hand. "How you holding up?" Prince asked. "I don't know. I'm horny though." Jessica said looking at Prince. "Well I wish I could fuck you, but we in a hospital." Prince joked.

Jessica laughed and touched Prince's chest. "Babe what in the hell were you gonna do with that branch?" Jessica laughed. "I was gonna hit any bastard that fucked with you. I love you so much even if a few bitches don't." Prince said smiling. Jessica just looked at Prince and smiled. "I only want you and our baby to be safe." Prince said.

Jessica smiled.

2 hours later

Everyone was sleeping. Jessica and Prince slept in the hospital bed, Ray was knocked out in the chair and Linda was sleeping peacefully in another.

There was a knock on the door that woke Linda up. She got up and opened the room door and seen two police officers standing there. The cop showers Linda a picture of Jessica and opened his mouth, "We was told that a Jessica Mendez is in this room. Who might you be?" "Uh i'm Linda, Linda Groden.. Did Jessica do something?" Linda responded.

"M'am this has nothing to do with you." The cop said. "Jessica and her friends are in my care until I can contact their parents now you tell me what you want with her or i'll have your badges before 3 a.m." Linda responded defensively. The two cops looked at each other then Linda.

"We have a warrant to take Jessica into custody."

"What for?"

"... Attempted murder."

Linda placed her hand over heart then looked at Jessica sleeping.

"Can't you see she's battered? I don't think she attempted to kill anyone."

"We wanna believe that to but we're just doing our jobs. I'm sorry, but we gotta book her." The cops said walking in and going to Jessica.

Linda just turned around and watched them, placing her hand over her chest.
