The girl sighs, wearily throwing the tray aside. Another client who couldn't help but notice the figure of Jisoo. This is the 3rd time this month. Her partners, the same waitresses as her, just look at her knowingly, someone pats her on the shoulder.
The stupid uniform, which has already become boring for 3 years of work, is annoying the girl's eyes. The clock on the wall shows that there are still a damn four hours left until the end of the shift. Kim rolls her eyes, nervously tapping her fingers on the distribution table. Cooks quickly put out dishes, noting the orders already completed in the receipts.
Dark eyes stumble upon familiar snacks and, quickly picking them up on a tray, the girl "puts on", on the way to the hall, a duty smile, pushing the door with her palm. The hall is teeming with people. There are families, students, even a couple of people in expensive suits. She puts snacks on the table where the girls are talking. They nod gratefully, and Kim wishes a nice meal. Walking up to the bar, she sighs wearily.
-Hey, you're scowler than sour candy right now.- A friend laughs, straightening her long blonde hair. Rose was one of those who could brighten up the day. However, unlike the older one, she only worked part-time, combining work with study. But Jisoo, by her 28th year, has achieved only a small apartment on the outskirts. But the apartment was rented.- Maybe you should change your hair color? Being brown-haired is cool, how about lightening your hair?
-Then my salary was a couple thousand won more.- The girl winces, rolling her eyes.- I feel like a failure.- She pouts her lips.
-Hey, do you want me to cheer you up?- The girl looks behind Kim's back, smiling slyly.- Your favorite client has taken that table again. And she still has the same emotionless expression on her face.- Rose snorts.
-Stop it, at least she's not talking about what a fucking ass I have.- Jisoo throws sarcastically and, leaving the tray at the blonde, goes to the client.
This stranger has long brown hair. She's wearing another short-sleeved black T-shirt, a plaid shirt and black jeans. The same silver laptop that reopens in front of her. Thin fingers with a pair of rings that quickly start typing something on the keyboard. And most importantly, the same impassive expression on her face.
-Hello, the usual?- Jisoo asks politely, holding a work pad and a pen in her hands. The girl looks up at her blankly.
-Yes. - The same answer. And Jisoo wants to howl. This girl is like a robot without emotions. For the past two months, this stranger has not asked anything. A normal person would have started a dialogue long ago, but she only sometimes looked at Kim for a long time, no more.- Did you want something?
-Eh? Sorry, I was thinking.- An awkward smile immediately tightens on her face.
-You should not push benevolence out of yourself. Some people read others well.- The client looks carefully at the screen. Jisoo freezes.
-My friends said that it is very difficult to read me.- The waitress says with a slight squint. She manages to exchange a surprised look with Rose, who, seeing that the conversation has started, shows two fingers up.
-Actually, it's easier to read you than books.- The girl snorts. She tucks her brown hair behind her ear, still looking up.- Your gestures, facial expressions, certain movements. I think I've learned you in all this time. Now you are trying to keep working condition, but dark circles under a layer of foundation, a strained smile, which, although it looks sincere, but nevertheless, is false, gives you away. You're lying to yourself.
-You don't know me!- Jisoo says confidently. But the girl just shrugs her shoulders.
-As you wish. I'm Jennie, and I know you've been trying to find out my name for quite some time. You could have just asked. Answering your possible question in advance, I am not familiar with anyone here, but I can read lips perfectly. Also, I'm very hungry.- The girl makes a semblance of a smile, but it looks as unnatural as possible.
-Yes, of course.- Jisoo finally moves away from the table, and the smile fades. She doesn't say anything to her friend, going into the kitchen and voicing the order. While the order is being prepared, the girl manages to clean two tables, feeling the gaze of cold eyes on her.- She scares me.- Kim says, approaching Rose. She just shrugs her shoulders.
-She doesn't take her eyes off you. For the first time, probably all the time, she is not staring only at the laptop.- The bartender laughs, winking somewhere in the hall.
-Stop flirting with all the girls.- Kim mutters, following her friend's gaze and bumping into a small pretty girl in a light dress.
-It's not my fault that you have bad luck with boys. Maybe you just haven't realized your sexuality yet?- Park suggests, to which Jisoo only twists her lips. She runs her hand through her dark hair, ruffling it a little.
-I'm not going over to your side. Girls are not for me.- She slightly wrinkles her nose, hearing the familiar bell from the kitchen and reluctantly getting up.- I'm like a dog.
-You're right, I can put a collar on you, what if it suits you?- Rose bursts into laughter when her friend rolls her eyes, sighing heavily and leaving.
-Your order.- Jisoo puts down a plate of salad and puts a large glass of juice next to it. She removes the tray, clutching it to her.- Enjoy your meal.
-I don't think collars should be put on people. Also, you have a pretty funny friend.- The lip edge curves slightly, and Jisoo freezes. Her face is probably starting to burn like a fire at an oil refinery, no less. Ears are burning treacherously, as well as cheeks.
-Do you really know how to read lips? Who are you?- The brunette frowns going on the attack, to which Jennie just shrugs. There is not a single emotion on her face, only some futile attempts in them. "Maybe she's just underdeveloped?"- A thought flashes through Jisoo's head.
-I'm just a programmer. Nothing special.- Jennie, like a predator, bows her head, and her dark gaze is a little scary. It feels like she's scanning the girl opposite right now. Jisoo hesitates.
-Anyway, enjoy your meal.- The girl answers and hurries away. Leaving, she feels a burning look after her. This girl scares, she smells of danger. But at the same time, there is something like that.. weightless, almost imperceptible, but attractive. Jisoo could compare it to some kind of darkness from the movies, and if she touches this darkness, she will probably dissolve into it herself.
