Part 4 - court

Shou wonders as to how he manage to kill malachi with little effort. But he doesn't have enough time to deal with it as his chest starts paining. But he decides to ignore it

The enemy army surrenders and shou takes a few soldiers as prisoners of war, by a few, he takes the best 50 soldiers from their army.  Among them,  the commander hento, runs towards shou, but the escort guards think that he to is running towards shou to stab him and thus push him away, and they hold a sword against him.

Shou : what happened guards?
Guards : sir this person tried to-
Hento : I wanted to thank you master!
Shou, turns toward hento.
Shou: why  are you calling me master, and why do you want to thank a soldier who killed off your warlord?
Hento: he was a terrible warlord, he used to execute people for making a small mistake too, you have  freed me from hell and the rest of the soldiers too. He might've been a good fighter, but not a good person from his heart.
Shou : ok.
Shou then turns around and walks away like nothing happened.
The guards chain his legs to the carriage and take him.

A few hours later

Shou's army arrives at the mainland Aeloria using a huge river. Aeloria  is  the most powerful country in the whole of veridara. Aeloria is far technologically advanced that they have discovered a way to make a chariot move without horses. They have made powerful crossbows that shoot kilometres far, they have made multiple storeyed buildings as tall as 300 metres and statues as tall as 450 metres.

Shou and his army arrive at the gates with their 12 ships. The drum man makes a drum beat and attracts the guards, who come down from the gates to the port, the guards then let the army inside. A humongous gate opens, the gate is far larger than their biggest ships too. As the gate opens, the army marches in. The people inside the country welcome them  by throwing flowers at them and greeting them. The people are excited to shou win with such a weak army regiment too. Everyone in the kingdom knew the fact that the general hated shou, and they also knew that it was the same reason he was transferred from the best regiment to the weakest one. But this only made the townspeople admire him more. He was in fact more popular now then the general himself.
Shou and his  commander Reynard entered the court after getting welcomed by the towns people. The courtiers greeted him and so did the king, this only made the general furious.
The king, richen was very friendly towards shou as they were childhood friends, shou was also the part of the royal family and they grew up in the same palace. At start, richen was so fond of shou that he wanted shou on the throne instead, but as time passed, richen got greedy and took on the throne as his father wanted.  However he didn't care about expanding the kingdom or making it better, he only cared about extravagant parties and fun. Shou however, had to accept the fact that richen would be the king and decided to help richen make the kingdom better as shou always wanted to.

King: welcome shou, welcome.
You have proved yourself again, even with a really weak legion, you have my respect.

Shou: thank you majesty.
The court applauds shou and his army.
Shou: I would like to seize this opportunity to propose a plan to make each of our legion better, more powerful and stronger.
General: how would a warlord like you, who has no knowledge about technology, do it?
Shou: The armour and the chariots.
We have always used the best of the best armour and motor chariots for the best legions, but we have never given it to our weaker legions, if we do, we will make it  more powerful than before. It is something truly to boast of to the neighbouring kings.

Richen: that is such a good idea, why didn't we think of that?

General : because it costs a lot of money sir, and what this fellow says, is true, but it comes at a hefty price.

Richen: oh, yeah, the price. Fine then, we won't upgrade the legions.

General: excellent choice sir.

Shou got upset about it but he could not do anything about it.

Shou exited the court and as he walked towards his house, he began asking himself, is it really worth it, everything he has done so far, was only for his people and the kingdom, but it seemed like they could not care less.

He was dissapointed in the king, he felt like the king wasn't the richen he knew, he had probably gotten greedy, only caring about money and nothing else. Besides richen, shou himself was the only worthy king from the royal blood a few years ago, but he felt like richen wasn't deserving of the king title anymore.

He felt like richen should be exiled. "I need to kill him" said shou, but to kill him, he would have to get close to him to kill him or risk killing him in the open.

Thud. Shou dropped down, on his back was a small wound caused by a small sword, the man who stabbed him ran away, he left the poisonous sword on the floor as he ran.

Ren saw a man running away and went the direction the man came running from, he saw a huge man on the ground, with armour and he seemed like a legion commander, he ran towards the huge man on the ground not knowing that it was shou. As he went closer to him, he realised that he was shou.

He called some of the soldiers and together they lifted him and took him to the royal doctor. In hopes of saving him from the poison.
