I let my feet carry me, not daring to look back. Fever runs thick through my body, blurring my vision with sweat, my head fuzzy as I eye up all the greenery that has swept and swallowed the deselect city. I set my sights on a leaning scraper in the center. Clawing I begin to clear levels. Panting I break through an already paneless window.

"Well well well if it isn't the bitch that killed our kelly" roars in my direction

"Oh you've got to be kidding me" mutters past my lips as I'm lifted by a large fellow from the ground by hair

"Shes marked" a shaggy woman sniffs close, snapping at her she stumbles back while I grab at my hair vision not clearing

"Shes a fiesty cow" they sneer, shaggy using the opportunity to land blows to my gut, coughing

"How'd someone manage to mark the likes of her ?" From what I can make out a younger fellow, slim build

"Who cares they aren't here now" he leans in and I drag my claws through his face. Howling I'm thrown to the floor, shaggy jumps on top of me tearing at my shirt

"Your gonna die you daft bitch" I manage to land a few punches and pull her hair but the younger gets involved and before I know it their on me landing punches, pulling at me. My visions not the best, but I hear a crunch somewhere, my elbow breaking a nose. My nails run jagged marks around but it's not looking good. My nose is bleeding, my brow is spilt and my clothes are shreds.

A snarl fills the room. A wolf whimpers, their body slamming to a copper pole, another is forced to their knees while the big guy is grasped by the throat hovering three feet from the ground

"Up" a gentle palm guides me to my feet. Wiping my eyes, Erebus looks down to me, features unreadable. My breath passes in huffs, his finger brushing my plump lip to check for healing. Instinctively my tongue flicks the tip of his finger where it's cracked, our eyes unmoving, his jaw tenses.

"Who did this ?" No one answers, growling Erebus drops the man to the floor, his shoulders seem to widen filling the room as he looks down to the people before him cowering on their knees

"Do you see this mark ?" Grabbing the back of my neck, he bares his mark to them. My body before his, I can feel the heat of his an inch from mine. Breath catching

"Surely your not that fucking stupid to know what this means ?" Their eyes not moving from ours "it means she's mine" his growl is deep throated echoing within the room. Their heads dip

"Your lucky you didn't leave a scratch"  Grabbing the large man by the scruff he drags him to the edge, kicking and screaming. Unfaised and with ease my mouth falls open as he's thrown from the edge. Screams and howls of sorrow now replace the silence

"Let that be a warning" eyes back to mine, his slow steady steps prowl towards me. My back clatters to a wall

"Tell anyone who'll listen she's mine" inching closer ' and anyone stupid enough to touch what's mine will die, got it" they nod behind him while his fingers flick at my chin, my heart flutters as I turn away. The corner of his mouth lifts. I'm thrown over his shoulder, releasing a squeal

"Put me down!" My palms slap of his firm back, finding myself in need to swollow. I'm carried to a large penthouse apartment which is surprisingly clean

"Brought the doc" I can feel him nod once, Rosalind tilts her head to me, my arse towards her "Looks fun" I frown at her and flip her off once turned, she laughs. Placed to the sofa I immediately stand. He stares me down but I remain unmoving, both breathing deep an inch apart

"You must be Amaris" their doctor offers me her hand, I break eye contact to refuse her offering and look back to him

"Comply"
"Funny you'd think I'd follow your orders" his jaw tense, my features stern

"Let's look at your neck, shall we ?" I bat her hand away. His fingers curl my wrist, with a firm tug the gap between us disperses as currents pass over us. My lips part to his, our chests rising as one.

"I can .. erm .. give you some space ..."

"No," Squinting to me "stay" releasing my hand. I'm glad for the doctor to be here. If she wasn't, I'm worried about what would happen between us, that and the fact his bite seems to have broken a fever within me
