IT WAS THE END OF THE DAY, and I had to get ready for the meeting with Abby's brother and aunt.

"Hey Mike." Getting his attention he walks a little closer and almost half smiles. "Hey Cassie." We walk back to my room and talk for a bit before the meeting actually started.

"So how have you and Abby been doing?" He sits down and spreads his leg, also hunching over a little bit. "Good I guess, Abby's hasn't been talking much for some reason but you know." I nod and sit down crossing my right leg over my left.

"And how about you!" He looks away a tad a bit and then looks to me. "Not bad, I just got fired but I'm trying to look for a new one." I nod again, something I've been doing a lot recently.

"Well maybe we should go get your guys aunt." We walk out, Mike holding the door open and following behind me.

"Hello are you Jane?" The old lady nods and we trail back to my room, with some sad looking man in the room.

"Just look at me nephew, i- it's 3 o'clock and he can't even keep his eyes open, i mean what did you do all day." I roll my eyes internally but on the outside I keep my posture.

"And this, this in-degenerate is who they intrust with the well being of a mentally ill child." I sigh and sit up straight again. "Jane as I've said before and I'll say it again, Abby is not mentally ill, and I think it's time you wrap that around your brain." She laughs and rolls her eyes.

"Oh right right, perfectly normal for a child to sit around and draw pictures all day and not only that talk to magical creatures who don't even exist." I can't do this lady any longer.

"Jane let's bring the intensity level down okay." She rolls her eyes at me and sighs. "No don't tell me to calm down, you're the doctor, counselor, whatever, though you make me feel that I'm the crazy one." Well you are. I tilted my head slightly and raised my eyebrows.

"And- and after what he did to that- that poor man, I just-" I look to Mike the an annoyed face as he did the same, then proceeded to look back at her as she pretended to cry.

"I have really tried to play nice I have, but I have to think about Abby now." I roll my eyes once more. "You know if you want to think about Abby you should know, Abby is comfortable living with Mike, and we only want her to feel comfortable, perhaps she doesn't feel that with you." I tried to explain but was shortly cut off.

"Enough is enough, Doug." The man stays still, "Doug!" She tells grabbing his attention finally as he hands Mike papers.

Grabbing them Mike looks as confused as I do. "I your heart you know that this is the right thing to do and I certainly hope we agree." I sigh and slouch again, unfortunately this was something I could not handle.

"And if I don't." Mike boldly spoke out. "Well my lawyer and I will have to take you to court." I widen my eyes and scoff. "Where any judge with an ounce of sanity will see it that you never see your sister again. Is that what you want." Mike looks between the two and sighs with an eye roll.

"I- I mean she doesn't even care about Abby, all she wants is the monthly check from the state." I nod and sigh, my eyes keeping watch on him.

"All though I mean she has some good points, I'm hardly fit to be raising a kid." I shake my head and look out the window.

"How do you know Abby feels that way? Everyday she comes in school happy, that should be more right there considering when she stays at her aunts house she comes in looking like she hates her life." He lets out a dry laughs and looks to Abby who's drawing outside.

"But she talks to air more than she talks to me I could drop dead tomorrow and she'd be too busy drawing to notice." I smile and look at Abby once more.

"But she puts meaning behind those pictures, she draws them to show her love rather than use her words to express it, but look at the drawings who's in almost every one of them?" He half smiles just a tad and looks alto her.

"Me." He spoke out quietly as I smiled. "Exactly, whether you like it or not, you mean the most to her right now." Mike wasn't having it, he was to hard to get to and it needed to be done.

"I mean I hate that my aunts right but, not one judge in their right mind is gonna side with me." I tilt my head but smile. "Have you found yourself a job yet?" He shakes his head, "Well starts there okay?" He nods and we walk outside to get Abby, saying goodbye to them I went to get my purse and keys to leave.
