Her heart was racing so fast . She looked anywhere but avoided the queen's sight. 'Jasper' he was up there. Looking at her . Their eyes met again for a second time that night. It was as though time had stopped as they engaged in that starring battle. So soaked in that she didn't realize that the queen had called her the diamond of first water. Applause from the crowd brought her back to her senses.
" The season's diamond, Miss Luna Bennet." the host announced. She quickly bowed to show her respect to the queen. " come child."She didn't know how but her feet found their way to the queen's seat. She had always seen her from afar now that she was closer she couldn't help but feel uneasy. " I hope we get along well." the queen said placing her hand in hers. " Yes your majesty."
" Let the ball begin."
She excused herself and soon after, eligible bachelors were looking to take a chance with her. Usually begins with asking her to dance. " Not so fast young man." He was going to introduce a friend.
She was fast enough to catch up to Jasper. He was by the fountain in the backyard. It had been forever since she last came here.
She used to come to there when she was little. She jumped around excitedly. She missed this. She laughed so hard when she saw the writing on the bench. It said, " Luna's spot . Hair will grow on your butt if you sit here." She smiled to herself.
Then she rushed to the tree they planted. Magnolia.
It had become so huge now. She touched the stem and a stubborn flower landed on her neatly tucked hair.
She had almost forgotten why she came here. She walked around in the garden admiring the flowers and smiling to herself before she saw him. He was sitting on a bench staring into the darkness. "Jasper" she said softly.
