Hi, I'm...I'm...
I sighed as I looked my book. How am I supposed to write a story if I can't even think of a name. Well, I'll just write about me. Now let's see... Where do I start?Hi, I'm Miki, your typical shy girl, or you can say very shy, like, super shy.
My name means beautiful princess, but I see no beauty or princess-like qualities in myself. Relationship status: single, and I plan on keeping it that way. You see, I learned a thing or two from guys. I'm that girl in class that's so quiet it's like I don't exist. Unless the other kids make it known that I do exist. But bullies are bullies; they are everywhere. My mom is a workaholic. My dad, well, let's just say I don't have one. As for my brother, I don't see him around, and my step sister, well, have never met her. I slammed my book shut.Man, the more I read this, the more pathetic I sound. Well, I start going to a new school today, or, well, I shadow today, then I start Wednesday.
Shadowing is this weird thing where you follow someone around school like a shadow follows its person. But this is a new school. No one knows me. I have the chance to create a new life. Yes!
I looked up at the sky and smiled. Wish me luck dad!
"Miki! Quit slacking! We are going to be late!" Mom was mad at me, as usual, but she has been like that everyday since dad died, and my brother started acting up, but I guess she has to take it out on someone. "Miki! Fix your hair! It's ugly! How do you expect to make friends? Is Akihiko here?"
"No, he's coming soon."
Akihiko-my brother and a major pain in the butt. I call him by his name because we have a difficult relationship. When he acted up, he took it out on me, too. When he was mad, he would hit me and do other stuff I don't like to talk about. But he values his drugs more than me. He is good with the ladies, and it seems like he is a prince, but set him off and hell will be unleashed. So how did he got a name that meant bright prince is a complete mystery to me.
"Miki hurry up!"
"Yes, mommy," I said as if I were a maid.
I quickly put my bracelets on.
I can't let anyone see my wrists. Yes, Miki, Miss Goodie-Two-Shoes, cuts. I'm suicidal, self harmed, and I'm anorexic. People would be amazed how much a smile can hide. But I plan on changing that this school year. New school, new me. I pulled my sleeves over my bracelets.
"Is he here yet? I'm going to be late," I said.
"No," Mom replied.
"Well, I have to go." I started running before she could respond. I have never run so fast in my life. It felt nice. Almost like I was free from everything. I love the way the wind felt through my long, black hair.
"I can see the school," I said as I smiled.
I kept running then I saw a flash of colors and noticed I was on the floor.
"Watch where you're going, freak!" a girl yelled.
I sat there on the floor rubbing my head as I sat up.
"S-sorry," I replied.
"You better be!" the girl said as she kicked dirt on me.
'My new uniform! Mom is going to kill me,' I thought. I looked up and saw the girl. I noticed the blazer with the school's symbol. Yup, I would notice that symbol it had, and her blazer was lined with gold at the edges meaning she was a part of the smartest class in school. She was pretty, but her heart was so mean. Just change the personality, and she would be perfect. I stumbled up to my feet, and she slammed my books out of my arms and to the floor.
"Keep your distance, you piece of trash," she laughed as she and her clique walked away.
All the girls were surrounding some guy. I'm guessing he is the most popular guy. You know, the guy every girl wants to be with. I sighed as I knelt down and picked up my books, dusting them off.
Jeez, I'm already making enemies, and I haven't even been to the school yet.
I started to walk when I noticed a sharp pain in my left foot. I saw all the girls run another way.
"Good. They're gone," I said as I walked, dragging my foot behind me. What I didn't notice was that I left my book behind, and not just any book. The book where I write letters to my dad.
"Wait," I heard a soft, gentle voice say. I turned and saw a guy. "You dropped this," he said as he held out my book. I quickly took it out of his hands.
I got so shy I made a run for it, forgetting about the pain in my left leg.

Levi POV"Well, that was weird. I wasn't expecting that. Girls are always all over me, but she gave didn't even look at me and acted like I was going to hurt her. Well, it looked like she's going to our school. She will be all over me in no time, I bet. After all, I always get what I want," I said to myself.
I'm Levi. I'm the school's prince. I get whatever I want. It's always been like that. Yet even though I have gotten everything, I feel as if something is missing. Like I can never be truly satisfied until I have it. I mostly blame my mom and dad for working all the time. I hate them. On the bright side, I can do whatever I want.
I walked in the room and sat at my desk as I always do, but I saw the girl from earlier. I could tell because she had the same long, black hair, and she didn't talk. When Mr. Fumio, our teacher, asked her to introduce herself, she just stood there looking at the floor with her mouth open like she was about to talk, but not one sound came out. Next, she sat in the back next to me, yet she still hasn't looked at me a single time.

Miki POV
I sat in the back of the class next to the window, which got me thinking, because in anime, the main character has this seat. Another fact about myself, I'm what's called an otaku, but I keep that to myself. (An otaku is one who loves anime.) But I have bigger things to worry about. I was supposed to create this new me, and I blew my chance. Why is it so hard to talk in front of people?
"Okay, class. Miss Miki is shadowing, and will be starting school here on Wednesday. Would anyone like to have her shadow you?" Mr. Fumio asked.
The room was silent. I felt so embarrassed so I stared at my desk, I was glad the teacher didn't call me by my last name. I never go by my last name. Not because I don't like it, it's just not normal.
"Okay, since no one is going to volunteer, I will pick someone. Levi, she will be shadowing you." Mr. Fumio said.
"Sure thing," Levi replied.
"Wait! No, I will not allow it! Levi should not have to be followed around by that freak," I heard a voice say. I looked up and saw the girl from earlier.
"That's enough, Amaryllis. I have made my decision," the teacher shot back.
'Great. Just the thing I was trying to avoid-starting a commotion,' I thought that's when I heard the other girls whisper that I was shadowing the most popular guy in school. I have to change this.
"T-teacher," I stuttered.
All three of them glanced at me. The intense stare was scaring me so bad.
"Um, can I please have another partner?" I asked queitly as I looked away because the stares were too much for me to handle. The room fell silent and everyone gasped. I thought, 'Did I say something wrong?'
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Levi POV'Did I just get rejected?' I thought as I looked at her. Last time I got rejected was before my mom married my step dad. 'This can't be!' I thought. I just got rejected. Everyone wants me. The thoughts kept running though my mind.
