"Jimmy, get your lazy ass out of bed unless you want to run away with nothing but the clothes on your back!" Barked my crazy-ass twin brother, Johnny.

I threw the covers off of me. "Look, I hate this place as much as the next guy, but do I have to go with you and your friends?" I grumbled. "Can't I just leave with my girlfriend or something?"

Johnny rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Which one?"

"Every time you open your mouth, I like you a little less." I threw my pillow at him as he laughed even more.

Okay. Maybe I was lying about the girlfriend. We broke up two weeks ago. But Johnny didn't need to know that. I just didn't want to leave home to only have my brother and his dumbass friends to talk to.

Johnny finally finished his jovial mocking of my love life, and looked at me with a semi-serious expression. "We should probably be more quiet, though...we don't want to wake up mom and Brad.."

"Shit, you're right...why exactly do you want me to go with you..?" I asked.

Johnny looked at me with the most sincere expression he's ever given me since...ever. "You're my brother. Sure, we may not agree on everything, and I still think you're a shithead, you're the only person who I can really rely on..." Johnny continued picking out the stuff worth taking with him, not looking in my direction.

I finally stood up from my bed. "You mean that..?"

Johnny turned around, finally looking me in the eyes. "Yeah, of course. I don't know where I'd be without you. And it would mean the world if you came with us." He looked at me with almost pleading eyes.

I finally gave in. "Okay, yeah, sure, I'll come with you.."

I grabbed a bag and threw in some clothes, my eyeliner, some CDs, my journal(and some pens and pencils) some comics, a pair of black, fingerless gloves, my wallet, and I sneakily put in a small bat plush.

I looked back at Johnny. "When are we leaving again?"

"In the morning. When they think we're going to school."

I stopped. "But I'm a dropout. Mom would get suspicious."

Johnny shrugged. "She's usually still asleep when I leave, anyway. It'll be fine."

All of a sudden, Johnny's pager went off. "Oh, give me a minute..it's Will." He takes his phone out of his pocket and calls Will. "Dude, is everything okay?"

I can't make out what Will was saying, but the look of disappointment on Johnny's face is clear.

"Shit, that sucks, man..just keep in contact with us, okay?" Johnny hangs up and puts his phone back in his pocket.

"What happened?" I asked. "Is everything okay?"

"Will's girlfriend is pregnant, so he can't come with us..well, at least I don't have to buy another bus ticket for you..."

I froze. "Heather's pregnant? Is she sure..?" It's been a while, but last time I saw Heather, she was the biggest goody two-shoes I've ever met.

"Is four pregnancy tests enough to be sure?" Johnny responded. "It's fine, Tunny's still gonna be there."

I nod in understanding, still pretty shocked that Heather of all people got pregnant. I threw in the last thing I'd bring into my bag, a tiny bi flag that I hid in my sock drawer.

Nobody knew, not even my brother. And I wanted to keep it that way.

However, just as I started to zip up my bag, Johnny spoke up: "Hey, what's that?"

I zipped up my bag, nearly at the speed of light. "It's nothing!" I awkwardly smiled, hoping Johnny didn't recognize it.

Johnny threw his hands up. "Okay, okay, geez. I'll just set your alarm. We need to be up in 4 hours if this is going to work." He grabbed my alarm clock and set it for 6 am. He then turned off the lights, and got in his bed, across the room from mine. "Night, dude.."
