PLACE: THE CITY

Dad: The power will go out soon.

Mom: You think, so?

Dad: Yes. <stretch> The patrols are increasing. I think the power will go out for sure tonight.

Maddox: Patrols? I thought the power went out because the city diverts power for their hosting of the lesser strangers at the Arena downtown.

mom shakes her head, and dad is looking out the window across the street at another window of his friend and neighbor.

Dad: That's the correlation, but its because everyone talks. The world knows we are breaking laws, and they suspect why.

Lenn: Dad, the World? The rest of the World?!

mom looks at dad with a worried expression, she understands him more than even his parents, or any job and life evaluator. she was losing this solitary, kind gentleman.

mom goes and grabs the youngest, Bale,: Dad, let's read that book you bought today for the power outages. Kids, come with me, we can make hot chocolate and read it as a family.

Maddox: Mom, why is dad always right about when the power outages come?

Mom: *let me hold this cup forever and drink of it my bitter, she thinks* That's a secret that's tied to everything from Mayor Poule to the Waynes to JackoJangle to Hero-Vigilante.

Lenn: Dad knows the Wayne?

Mom: he is him.. He stayed as a small piece of himself when we were trapped in this winter forever. But Christmas is coming, and he bought us a Christmas gift. That book is a magic story book. It cost 20,000 dollars at a Wayne Dealer.

Maddox: if we are Waynes, why is he here and US too?

Mom: your dad loves us, but he's just not all there. It is probably against his "code" to take us there.

Dad was still looking out the window, but this time up at Wayne's building across the river a long ways down, from where his house sat in a nice and neat row

Dad was still looking out the window, but this time up at Wayne's building across the river a long ways down, from where his house sat in a nice and neat row. They came back looking at the floor, holding steaming chocolate.

He had a strange book in his hands. He knew mom had told them he was Bruce Wayne. "Girls! Look at this marvelous magic. This book I have bought for tonight so we can read rewrites itself, Title and all, after you are done. Anytime you want to go back to a previous story, it simply is found under a table in the introduction part that you never noticed before."
