The young wizard was the court magician to the King of Whyte, and had a tower to his own in the palace. He loved his cozy study with its books and things. His name was Brex, Brex Dexley.

The wizard soon had made a plan and summoned the prince to meet him in the palace courtyard to hear what he thought the solution might be to the dangers faced by the kingdom

The wizard soon had made a plan and summoned the prince to meet him in the palace courtyard to hear what he thought the solution might be to the dangers faced by the kingdom.

"Prince Casper! Please follow me to my tower. I have spoken to your father and mother, and they have declared you ready to adventure to the other side of the northern mountain passes."

Casper had been on his way to visit his cousin in town to discuss a matter of something secret he had been afraid to talk about with anyone in the castle, and he didn't really relish the idea of the foreign wizard speaking like he would have to leave soon without dealing with this issue that had been plaguing his life for weeks.

"Uh.. sure."

Back in the mage's tower, Brex, who was about 5 years older than Casper, saw that Casper was annoyed but trying to hide it. He simply charmed him a bit with a spell, by having Casper study a crystal, in his pocket. He had no time to find out why the Prince was aloof just now.

Then, after Casper was ready to begin to understand the nature of the turmoil, his teacher the court magician, Brex, began to discourse on the issues facing Whyte kingdom

Then, after Casper was ready to begin to understand the nature of the turmoil, his teacher the court magician, Brex, began to discourse on the issues facing Whyte kingdom. He finalized this little lesson by declaring,

"only thing for it, is to go find your twin that arrived with you eleven years ago!"

"WHAT?!!"

Brex, smirked, and began the lesson over, this time first explaining that Casper was a stranger to Char, and how he had arrived to their side of the world via some vaporous green vacuum explosion one strange day, without explanation, and with a twin.

"Where is he, where is Caspien?"

"He is on the other side of the mountains, EAST" Brex said with emphasis.

"He too is a prince! Mirror, show us Prince Caspien!"

Casper was mollified, and soon was making plans to travel a very great distance, through the blakk forest, all to meet his brother from Earth

The wizard showed him a map of the eastern side of Whyte, and pointed out the first pass was in it's northeast.

"On the way are settlements and cities." Brex added

Casper asked to copy down the map, and made his way off to his chambers to rest and prepare to leave at midnight.
