'Wake up, he's here' Atsushi woke.
He sat up quickly as he heard the door to the room his cell was in unlock. He didn't have to see him, he already knew who was coming down those stairs. As the Headmaster came closer, his fear began to grow gradually. With every step the headmaster took Atsushi could feel his breathing becoming more Irregular, his heartbeat quickening and he could feel himself curl up tighter into his knee's, keeping them close to his chest. The Headmaster stopped before the bars to his cell, Atsushi could feel a sudden wave of rage and malicious intent flow through him, but wait, that wasn't him.
Atsushi quickly realized those weren't his emotions, they were the emotions of Byakko, his friend that he shared mind and body with, though still different beings. Now that he was listening he could hear the faint beginnings of a growl in his mind as he avoided the Headmasters sharp gaze. He knew the anger wasn't directed at him, but it scared him nonetheless. Atsushi could sense that Byakko wanted him to look at the Headmaster so he complied, even though he didn't want to. He wouldn't want to lose his only friend after all.
Atsushi lifted his gaze from his curled up position on the floor to meet the Headmaster's. He still sometimes hoped that he would meet his gaze and see anything but his cold stare, but as always his hopes quickly dwindle as he saw not a cold stare, but anger.
"it has been three weeks since the incident, how do you feel?" He said, Atsushi didn't need him to clarify.
" I feel weak and cant use my ability, a-and I want to say sorry again for-"
" Don't stutter and don't cry." The Headmaster said, distaste clearly showing on his face.
Atsushi then realized that tears had started building in his eyes, since wiping his eyes free of tears was a sign of weakness and a disgraceful act he chose to try his hardest not to blink and wait for them to dry.
The incident, as the Headmaster had decided to call it was the time Byakko, his ability, had grown too strong due to Atsushi also growing in size because of his age. He was then able to take control of Atsushi's body while he was asleep. It had been three weeks since then and the Headmaster was still rightfully mad at him. He was now much easier to anger and Atsushi had been thoroughly punished for Byakko's actions. it was his ability after all, and therefore his responsibility. One good thing that did come from the incident was that he was able to be out of his cell for a week, he was confined to the Headmasters side and leashed, but it was still much better then being stuck in his claustrophobic cell.
" Because of your outburst nearly the whole city of Yokohama has been put on high alert, if you had just simply stayed where you are meant to be none of this would have happened." Atsushi winced, the volume of his voice rose slightly throughout his sentence, almost to the point of yelling, all with the same cold gaze he always wore. Atsushi liked to think that that gaze was reserved just for him, but even when not directed at him, the Headmaster wore that gaze, so he supposed not.
Atsushi didn't answer since he knew that the Headmaster was no longer talking to him, but more to himself. His mind wandered and he thought back to what the Headmaster had said happened 3 weeks ago, apparently Byakko has broken through the wall that Atsushi's back was now pressed against, recently repaired. He had escaped into the forest near the orphanage, but not before being seen by civilians. Soon special forces were sent after him and he was driven out of the forest and into the city, cornered. Byakko had grown to the size of no ordinary tiger and fought ruthlessly against the special forces, causing a lot of property damage in the process. I really am a monster.
Eventually an unnamed special military division had gotten involved and neutralized him and Atsushi woke up back in the orphanage somehow. He still didn't understand why the military division didn't kill him, he had asked Byakko but even he didn't know and he knew he couldn't ask-
