The sun's warmth cascaded down on my skin and felt like a warm blanket, embracing me with its gentle rays. With summer in full swing, the day was incredibly hot, and the four of us decided to make the most by making use of Gojo's pool.
I readjust myself on the lounge chair and take a bite from the popsicle in my hand that had started to melt.
"You look hot." I feel someone approach me as the sound of a camera goes off.
"Well, it is over ninety degrees." Nobara rolls her eyes and scoots the lounge chair closer to me before lying down.
"I meant the way you were eating the popsicle."
"What? Im just eating it." My cheeks start to heat up, and I look around to make sure the others don't hear her comment.
"Yeah, and in a bikini, positioned perfectly on the chair while the sun is kissing down on you. I swear if Megumi doesn't make a move, I will." She wiggles her eyebrows, and I playfully slap her arm.
"It's not like that."
"If you say so." She brings her phone out again and holds it between us before motioning me to get closer. I smile in the picture as Nobara takes a couple of snaps and videos of us.
The sound of running footsteps gets my attention, and I watch as the pink-haired boy makes his way toward the edge of the pool. I quickly try to shield myself from the aftermath as he plunges in.
"CANNON BALL!" Seconds later, Nobara and I are splashed with water. I giggle as Itadori emerges from the water and shakes his hair off.
"ITADORI! YOU GOT MY PHONE WET, I WAS TRYING TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH LUNA!" Nobara was fuming as she clenched her teeth and stood up to peer over him.
"You can take thirst traps later, come in the pool." He splashes toward Kugasaki, making her shriek. She throws her phone at me, and I catch it before she walks to the edge of the pool toward the stairs.
"I was not taking thirst traps!" She tries to make her way to Itadori, who starts backing away from her while slightly splashing her and in the process gets her hair wet.
A grave mistake on Itadori's part as Nobara had warned us earlier that she didn't want to get her hair wet due to meeting up with someone afterward.
"Oh shit, I'm sorry -" He tried to talk his way out, but it was too late.
"You're dead!" Kugasaki lunges forward and manages to catch Yuji. She gets him in a headlock and starts to push his head into the water.
I shake my head at the duo and chuckle lightly as I finish off the last of my popsicle. I put the stick next to the end table and wipe my hands. I hated the feeling of my palms being sticky.
I should probably go wash my hands.
I look over toward the window in the kitchen to see Megumi and Gojo still talking.
It had been over a week since we last saw Toji. We were staying at Gojo's for the time being, who had been very understanding of the situation. Although Megumi was doing a good job of hiding it, he was torn about the news of his father.
He had already lost his mother at a young age, and once his father disappeared, he had pretended he passed away too. It was just easier for his younger mind to cope with the abandonment. However, Toji was alive and now trying to be a part of his life, but for how long? Part of him wanted to ignore his father and continue that lie he had told himself six years ago.
Yet, a bigger part of him wouldn't let the matter go. It was eating him up inside. Toji was the last thing he had that connected to his mother, and now he was sick, just like she was. This decision was something he spent hours pondering, and it was slowly driving him over the edge, which Gojo took notice of.
