My alarm clock started blaring; giving me a signal it was time to get my ass up. I laid in my bed half asleep pounding on my alarm; it wouldn't turn off until I finally unplugged it. Why did I have my alarm set for 9 am on a Saturday? I didn't even know. I start to fall into a deep sleep in my peaceful room when my best friend bursts into my room.

"WAKE UP ITS SATURDAY RISE AND SHINE" He yells

"Oh god" I mutter under my breath hoping he wouldn't hear

"I heard that and I am ignoring it. Come on it's a special day!"

"Is it summer break?" I ask

"Well no its winter"

"Well is it winter break?" I ask

"No. It's Saturday" He says

"And Saturday can wait five more minutes" I say and turn over

"Come on we have a lot planned today" He says

"Like what?" I ask, knowing we both had nothing planned today

"Fine, we had nothing planned I just needed an excuse to get out of my house" He says. I can already tell something bad happened at his house and he needed me. I immediately wasn't tired anymore and I sat up to comfort him

"What happened?" I ask

"Got you! Nothing bad happened come on let's go drive around and see when the road takes us"

"Well the end of a road could take us to a cliff and kill us both..." I say

"Okay quit being a party pooper. We're probably just going to stop at Misty's" He says and I immediately get excited

"I haven't been to Misty's in such a long time" I say with excitement

"It's been two weeks since we went" He says with a straight face

Misty's was our favorite ice cream shop in our city. The cashiers knew us by name and knew what we ordered. I would get Cookies and Cream and Matt would get Bubblegum. If one of us weren't feeling well the other would get Misty's for them. When we would be home alone we would walk to Misty's together. Misty's was basically our go to place if we A) Didn't have anything to do B) One of us was sick or C) It was 5 am and we snuck out to go together (even though our mom's obviously knew we snuck out to get Misty's.)

"I will get out of this bed if we go to Misty's first. I've been craving chocolate" I say

"Deal!" He says

I get up to get dressed and look at him before I start to take anything off.

"Matthew." I say

"Yes?" He says with a smirk

"Nice try. Out" I say while trying to hold in my smile

"It was worth a try" He smiles and walks out

I follow him to close my door. I quickly choose an outfit and put my hair in a messy ponytail and put light makeup on. I have to look at least presentable. I walk out of my room to see Matthew standing in front of my door.

"Your mom isn't home so I had no one else to talk to" He says

"Good. If my mom we're here we would have an hour delay" I say

"Not even" He exclaims

"Yes we would you guys practically start a conversation about how you guys have been when you saw each other the day before" I say

"Okay you got me on that one" He says

"Since I was right you get to buy me Misty's" I say

"Only because you've bought me Misty's many times" He says and moves from the doorway so I can get to the car

The moment we reach the porch of my house we start racing the passenger seat.

"I GOT IT THIS TIME YOU SHITFACE" I yell at him

"But how many other times have I got shotgun?" He says

"Emma-1 Matt-489" I say

"But I'll admit your catching up" He says sarcastically

Our elderly neighbor starts calling our names.

"Matthew! Ella!" She says

"Mrs. Vanderfield its Emma" I say

"What?" She yells

"Never mind" I yell back

"How long have you two been dating?" She yells over her white fence

"We aren't dating Mrs. Vanderfield" Matthew says

"Oh why not?" She says, of course she heard him

"We're best friends" I say

"What?" She yells

"Oh my god." I say, I know she won't hear me

"We should really get going. It was nice talking to you Mrs. Vanderfield" Matt says to her

"More like yelling" I mutter under my breath

"Heard that" Matt mutters back

"Bye Matthew. Bye Ella" She says

"It's Emma" I yell at her as we pull out the driveway

"So there's a party tonight at Macy's wanna go?" He asks

"Of course I have nothing to do" I say

We finally pull into Misty's and I run out of the car and order. I was that excited.
