"Here, drink this." Blue says as he holds a styrofoam cup in front of him.Elliot watched as Blue crushed pills and poured weird colored liquids into the cup making some type of disgusting liquidy concoction for the last hour.
Elliot shook his head, just the look of the odd liquid made Him feel queasy.
"That looks like it'll kill me."
"I'm not trying to fucking kill you." Blue hands Elliot the cup and Elliot stares down at it in disgust. "If I wanted to kill ya' I would've done it."
"Wow, that makes me feel so much better." Elliot says sarcastically as he moves his head dramatically. Blue gives Elliot a chuckle in response.
"Do you trust me?" Blue says in a whisper and leans forward and gives Elliot a small peck.
Elliot blushes but it's not enough to make him fall for Blue's antics and instead makes another sarcastic response.
"Do you want me to answer that honestly?"
"Stop playin' and down it white boy." Blue says as he leans back in his seat and crosses his arms.
Elliot thinks about how he got himself in this situation in the first place. He told Blue that he's had a major Migraine for the last few days that hasn't gone away. So, here he is drinking a homemade medicine made by an inmate he's known for a total of one month, two weeks and 3 days.
Ellliot gives the cup one last look before he leans his head back and takes all the liquid down in one go. As soon as Elliot gets it all down the taste invades his mouth.
"I'm gonna throw up." Elliot chokes out as he stickers out his tongue and shakes his head as a nauseous feeling takes over him.
"That's why I waited right before lunch." Just then the door buzzes and the door opens leading into the main room.
Both Elliot and Blue walk out to the room and go to a cart where a lady is handing everyone silver trays full of today's lunch.
They sit at a table on the far left side in the corner with Scar and Taco, two other inmates that Blue has associated himself with the last few months or years Blue's been here. Elliot still hasn't worked up the courage to ask that question yet.
They talk amongst themselves every so often but focus on finishing the food they all have gotten used to stomaching in their short amount of time before clean up starts.
"Elliot Martin!" A loud woman dressed in uniform yells. Elliot knew what it was for and when he looked over to blue it seems he knew too. Blue's look was unreadable and said one thing before Elliot left with a smile.
"Be careful White Boy."
Elliot can't lie, he's been thinking about Blues warning but this is freedom we're talking about and He would be a fool to turn up the chance of it. Right?
As the cop escorts him down the same path he did before a weird feeling grows in Elliots stomach. Maybe he should have taken Blue's word for it, or maybe it's the mysterious concoction he gulped down with little convincing. Either way, Elliot felt like something was wrong.
They stand in front of the door marked with the number 23 and wait for a buzz of clearance. Just like before he's handcuffed to the table and made to wait for Mrs. Davidson to make her appearance.
When Mrs. Davionson walks in and she looks just as before, but this time instead of tan she wears an expensive looking shade of royal blue and she carries a white plastic bag in the hand not occupied by her briefcase.
"Hello Mr. Martin, how are you holding up?" She says kindly as she walks up to her seat and puts the plastic bag and briefcase on the table. Elliot notices the smell of food coming from the bag and suddenly curiosity takes over him.
"I'm doing surprisingly fine."
She organizes her things and puts on her reading glasses.
"Ok Elliot, so I went over all of the evidence again and I talked to my team about your case and we are still very confident we can help you." Elliot immediately smiled at her words. "Oh! And I picked you up some food. A little birdy told me you enjoy the occasional double cheeseburger and fries from Up Hills." Elliot gave her a happy nod, and without another word she slid the bag over to Elliot.
Elliot dug in as she wrapped up his case. She talked about his relations to Sarah and his possible motives. The talk was similar to the first but this time it went into further detail. As Elliot took more bites of the burger he noticed it didn't taste quite like he remembered it. But, he's not complaining, maybe the prison food finally got to him.
As the meeting carried on the migrain that went away returned but ten times worse. Elliot was breaking out into a sweat as the conversation continued. He had three bites of his burger left but he left it untouched, unable to stomach another bite.
Mrs. Davidson pulls out one last folder and opens it up to Elliot with a smile different from the others.
When the contents appear in his line of sight Elliot is taken back. It was a picture of the hidden files Elliot hid under a slab of his wooden floor. The different files were screenshots and pictures Sarah had given to Elliot some months ago. Okay so maybe Elliot did know Sarah more then he led on.
He and Sarah were working together to expose her fathers company for the fraud and corruption that has been going on for years. Elliot and Sarah had been piecing together a case of their own that they were going to take to court. The night before Sarah's death and Elliots arrest she emailed Elliot that she had found the last piece of evidence that would put it all together.
Sarah had warned Elliot that something like this could happen but Elliot took it with a grain of salt. What type of father would purposely hurt their daughter? But still Elliot made a promise. If anything were to happen to one of them, the other would say nothing and burn all the evidence.
Well, we know how that turned out.
"It seems you knew Mrs. Jones pretty well, Mr. Martin."
