One day, Paintbrush, Apple, OJ, and Bomb were getting ready for a small event that Paper wanted the entire hotel to take part in.
A play!
Paper and Cheesy planned out the basic storyline, Suitcase and Mic helped edit it, Trophy and Balloon typed out a script based on the storyline, and everyone else is either acting in the play, preparing costumes, or getting the backdrop set up. These four were on backdrop duty, sadly. Paintbrush was painting a background, OJ had already finished the stage, and Bomb and Apple were almost finished with the decor. They were both required to stand on ladders and placed around some ribbons and other decoration around the ceiling. Bomb sighed as he looked at his side.

"A-Apple, are you d-d-done yet?"

He turned to look at her, watching as she loosely hangs a ribbon from a pole protruding from a side of the building. She gives him a thumbs up and a smile.

"Don't worry, Bomby! I only gotta do one more bow!"

She got off the ladder to push it to the next area. Afterward, she climbed back up and began tying a bow around another pipe. She sighed as she stared at the hot pink ribbon. It felt so weird to see it.

Paintbrush turned to grab a paint bucket and drag it closer, accidentally knocking into Apple's ladder. She fell, and the ladder fell as well, right on top of her. They gasped. OJ rushed over after noticing.

"Oh my god!? Paintbrush, what happened??"

"I-I didn't mean to- I bumped into her and- it just-"

Bomb ran over as well, staring at her. He glanced at the other two as he lifted the ladder off of her body.

"Wh-What do you think y-you're doing?? She's hhhurt, you asses! Help h-her!"

The others seemed to snap back to reality, helping Bomb with getting her somewhere where she can get better. Sadly, the best they could do was an old storage room, but it's better than nothing. They lied her down on the bed.

"Ok- Do we know anyone with medical experience??"

Paintbrush turned to the others. OJ shyly raised his hand.

"I know a guy."

It took a while for OJ's "guy" to show up, but when they did, Paintbrush looked slightly confused. It was Paper.

"I thought you wanted to do art? I thought you had a law degree??"

"Nooot exactlyyyyy..? Look- I only went to YoungArts for a year, and the lawyer thing wasn't really cool. I'm a registered nurse!"

"I hope you got registered by an expert."

Paper walked over to look at Apple, checking a few things. He didn't look that professional, and Paintbrush rolled their eyes playfully at this. He's always gonna be silly.. After he finished checking her out, he sighed.

"She's fine. She shouldn't be out for much lon-"

Before he could finish, Apple sat up, looking around for a moment.

"Oh- there she is."

She looked very confused, still observing her surroundings.

"Where am I??"

Bomb stared at her, kind of uncomfortable. He quietly left the room before any problems started. OJ waved at her.

"Hey! You were out for a bit- do you feel okay?"

"I feelllll.. I dunno."

She shrugged, a smile appearing on her face. Oj definitely wasn't smiling. Paper tapped on her gently, holding up 5 fingers in front of her face.

"Apple, could you tell me how many fingers I'm holding up?"

"...1."

Paper cringed, turning to OJ and Paintbrush, finally realizing Bomb left and deciding to ignore it.

"She mayyyy have minor brain damage?"

Paintbrush glared at Paper.

"I thought you said you were a registered nurse."

"Registered NURSE, not registered DOCTOR! I can't look inside of her!!"

Paintbrush then turned to OJ, who was awkwardly fidgeting with his fingers.

"What the fuck OJ!? You said you knew someone!!"

"You asked for medical experience, not a surgeon."

They angrily stomped out of the room, leaving Paper, Apple, and OJ alone. Apple looked confused once more.

"What's brain damage?"

Paper turned to her.

"It's when your head gets a boo-boo ouchie and you can't know things good."

"I'm not a toddler, just tell me what it means normally."

"Ah- It's what your brain gets hurt, and your memory gets worse."

"...But my brain doesn't hurt! My legs are the things that hurt."

Paper sighed.

"So can you say my name?"

"Paper! No.. Piper?"

"You were right the first time. Goddammit, OJ, did you really make me think she had brain damage?"

OJ put his hands up, offended.

"Hey, I didn't tell you anything! I just said she was hurt!"

Paper sighed again, embarrassed, and went out of the room. OJ glanced at Apple before following him. She was still extremely confused.

"Weirdos."
