"Calum?"
"What?" Calum said, turning his head back towards his doctor.
"Where's your mind at right now?" the doctor, Dr. Smith, asked.
"I don't know." Calum replied with a shrug.
"Have you seen Michael lately?" Dr. Smith questioned. Calum rolled his eyes.
"He's back in our room. He doesn't like you very much." he replied.
"What colour is his hair at the moment?"
"Black. Why does that make a difference? Why do you even care? He's not your patient." Calum said.
"A person's decisions show a lot about them, including their friends. Is Michael sad, or angry right now?" the doctor noted something down on his clipboard.
"He was angry yesterday because Allan knocked into him and didn't say sorry in the common room." Calum explained.
"Is that when he changed his hair again?" Dr. Smith said. Calum nodded and ran his fingers through his black hair - though now Michael's was a shade or two darker.
"Can I go now? Michael's probably getting lonely." he asked. Dr. Smith paused, then sighed and nodded.
"Sure. Say hi to Michael for me, okay?" he said. Calum stood up, heading out of the room without a goodbye.
Calum made his way through the halls until he got to his room.
"What'd the dickhead say this time?" Michael asked when he walked in.
"He asked about your hair." Calum replied.
"Do you like this colour? Because I'm thinking about making it blue again." Michael said, examining himself in the mirror on the wall.
"I like the black. It suits your personality." Calum joked with a grin. Michael stuck his tongue out at the other boy.
"Are you Calum?"
A voice from the doorway caught the two boys attention. Standing there was a blonde man, not much older than them. His eyes were a deep blue, shining under the bright fluorescent light.
Calum nodded wordlessly as Michael stared with his mouth open. He'd never seen anyone as hot as that guy in the hospital before.
"Uh, I'm Luke," the blonde introduced, stepping in. "I'm new. I'm supposed to give you your meds." he added.
Calum narrowed his eyes.
"I don't want my meds." he challenged. Luke hesitated, eyes widening as his fingers lifted up to play with the ring in his lip.
"I think you have to," he finally replied apologetically.
"I don't want to." Calum repeated.
Michael was still stationary, frozen in place. He was too caught up by Luke's face to pay attention to the conversation.
"Oi, Mike!" Calum snapped his fingers in front of his best friends face.
"Huh?" he replied, blinking and turning towards him.
"Back me on this. I don't want to take my meds."
"Dude, just take your meds. Do whatever he wants. He's hot." Michael laughed.
"I thought you were with me on this!" Calum snapped, shocked.
"Dude." Michael repeated.
"Ugh, fine. Gimme them." Calum groaned, reaching out.
"Here." Luke handed him a small container. Calum poured the pills onto his hand, then threw them in his mouth and swallowed. He gagged slightly, then glared at Michael.
"Happy now?" he muttered. Michael nodded, grinning, and glanced at Luke again. The blonde boy smiled, his face lighting up, and Michael was once again caught up in the glory that was Luke's face.
And he had a dimple.
This man was made in heaven.
"Thanks, Calum." Luke grinned. Calum grunted and Luke turned and walked out.
"Thanks a lot, Michael." Calum muttered.
Michael laughed as the other boy flopped down onto his bed.
"You're a dickhead. He wasn't hot enough to warrant taking my meds that willingly." Calum grumbled.
"He was hot." Michael argued. "Like a fucking star."
"You mean the sun, genius?" Calum snorted.
"The sun is a star, dumbass," Michael lay down next to Calum, hands under his head.
"Ugh, get off," Calum complained, pushing at Michaels side.
"No," Michael argued. The boys grinned at each other for a moment before Calum moved to pull his book out from under his pillow.
They stayed in that position for an hour; Calum reading, Michael staring at the ceiling.
As Michael was starting to drift off the sleep, the door began to open.
"Shit," Calum swore, shoving his book under his pillow hurriedly. Michael jumped up, moving to lean against the wall on the other side of the room.
"It's dinner time, Cal," the boy who poked his head in said. He was one of the orderlies, and if he had caught Calum with his book, then it would have been taken off him.
"Coming, Ashton." Calum replied, standing quickly. Michael followed his friend out of their room, and they made their way towards the dining room, Ashton following behind to make sure they made it there.
Calum walked over and grabbed two plates for them as Michael went and sat in their usual spot. He pulled a face as Calum placed a plate in front of him.
"The food here is disgusting." he said.
"Dude, just eat it." Calum replied. Michael seemed to be considering for a moment, but then he glanced down at the green and brown sludge on his plate and made up his mind. He pushed the plate away, sitting back and kicking his feet up on the tabletop.
"They're gonna yell at you, man," Calum laughed, shoving Michaels feet off the table.
"Oh, hey there's that hot new orderly," Michael pointed towards the door, smirking. Luke had just walked in and leaned against the wall next to the door with his arms crossed.
"He's not hot, Michael," Calum laughed.
"Is so. Damn, I'd let him restrain me, if you know what I mean," Michael was staring at the blonde, still smirking.
"Way to much info, Mike," Calum gagged.
"I do my best." Michael grinned. He stood up as Calum pushed his plate away.
"You put me off my food," the other boy pouted.
"Probably not good for ya anyways," Michael shrugged. "C'mon, I wanna see him close up again."
"You're gross," Calum rolled his eyes, but followed his best friend to the door.
Michael was disappointed when Luke only glanced at him briefly before turning back to the room, but his hopes were reignited when the blonde smiled.
He swore that dimple could cure poverty.
