Prompt; "Write a story that includes someone saying, "You've got this."

Story;

I take a deep breath as I peek from the stage cubby. The audience was filled to the brim with people. "Nervous? Don't be." A voice said from behind me. It was cool and calm. I turn my head to see my dance partner, James. He's your stereotypical blonde guy, he dawned a classic tuxedo, and his golden hair was frozen perfectly in place, with the aid of hair spray. He smiles softly at me. "You say that like we do this every day..." I responded. I walk past him to the dressing rooms. The large vanity mirror across the door greets me with a girl in a beautiful white dress. Mr. Shapiro, our dance instructor, said that the dress could win the competition itself. I know he was kidding, but that doesn't give me much confidence about my skills. I come up to the vanity mirror and check every microscopic detail about myself. I must be perfect, I must look perfect. "You know, beauty isn't everything." A snarky voice from my memory said. The voice from the memory was Isabella. She didn't like me when I joined, and she didn't like me any better when Mr. Shapiro paired me up with James. The other kids snickered behind me, and I heard Isabella say under her breath, "But it's all you've got." I shouldn't be thinking of Isabella right now...I shouldn't be thinking about anything but the dance. A knock on my door wakes me up from my soon-to-be panic, "Times up." said James. He creaked open the door. We looked at each other from across the room. I take a sigh and nod my head. Confident, I stride out of the room arm and arm with James. The announcer introduces us. We glide onto the stage smiling. The stage light fades. My stomach starts to swim. I feel nauseous. I take a gulp and my arm grip gets tighter. James leans in softly and whispers into my ear, "You've got this." The spotlight shines on us.
