As I step into the shower, the scorching hot water causes a sharp sting on my burn wounds from the hair curler. My bandages soak up the water, causing the burning sensation and blood to seep through. The pain is so terrible that tears stream down my face. To avoid more pain, I carefully moved my hand to avoid water touching my wounds. As I reach for the body wash, I can't help but notice that Alex has bought everything in a citrus flavor, which I adore for its refreshing scent.I cleanse my hair and body, removing the damp bandages and throwing them into the bin. I grab the nearby towel and quickly dry myself before stepping out of the bathroom, ensuring that I am properly covered. I put my glasses back that I had left on the table beside my bed. Alex left their red floral, printed, knee-length sleeveless dress and cozy black cardigan, along with some inner wear, on the bed.

I wore my dress without the cardigan as I needed to have my wounds treated. As I open the dressing table, I am surprised to find that Alex has brought makeup items for me. I decided to avoid wearing any makeup as I didn't want Adam or Alex to misunderstand that I was comfortable being kidnapped. Why would a kidnapper show me kindness? I think to myself. Filled with curiosity, I gently close the dressing table door in silence.

As I stared into the mirror, my eyes were immediately drawn to the vivid redness and swelling of my wounds. The throbbing pain served as a constant reminder of the ordeal I had endured. Looking at my fragile body weighing a mere 45 pounds, I couldn't help but be overwhelmed by a profound sense of weakness and vulnerability. The redness around my eyes is a constant reminder of the eye transplant Adam performed on me, driven only by his selfish motives. Tears welled up, flowing down my cheeks once more.

At that moment, I felt utterly lost and disconnected from myself. How had I ended up in this terrible situation?

The words spoken by Alex, that no one would come searching for me, echoed through my mind and caused me to cry even harder. I sank onto the edge of the bed, and my sobs filled the room once again. After a short while, a gentle knock on the door caught my attention. I glanced up to find Alex standing there, holding a first-aid kit. with a concerned look, he approached me and took a seat by my side. Placing the first-aid kit on the bed, he silently held my hand in his and began carefully applying ointment. He proceeded to bandage all of my wounds except for the burned wrist.

Without saying a word, he stood in silence, picked up the first-aid kit, and left the room, leaving me disappointed by his behavior. Moments later, he returned with two plates in hand and took a seat beside me. With a kind gesture, he offered me a plate of creamy mashed potatoes and mushroom soup.

Alex: "I've heated the food. Let's dig in before it loses its warmth!" with a smile

Me: "Alex," I murmur as I gently swirl the spoon through my soup.

Alex: "Hmmm-mmm," Alex hums, his eyes fixed on me, waiting for me to continue.

I raise my gaze to meet his, my voice trembling, "Is it true what you said, that there's no one out there looking for me?"

He gently takes my plate and places both of our plates on the table beside the bed. Tenderly, he lifts my head with his finger and moves closer to me.

Me: "Alex, could you please answer my questions?" I ask.
At first, he hesitates but eventually nods with a smile.
Me: "Tell me about myself," I ask, holding his hands, my eyes filled with hope.
Alex: "Okay," he says, pausing for a moment before continuing, "but remember, don't tell Adam that you know about yourself," he warns me, his voice filled with concern. "You are Amara, 19 years old, I don't know much about your family, but I do recall Adam mentioning that you lived alone. He also mentioned that you are studying to become an ophthalmologist. This is all I know about you," he explains, trying to provide as much information as possible.
Me: "Hmm, it's alright. Thank you, even if it's just a small amount. At least now I have a better understanding of myself," I say to him with a sad smile.
"And Alex, why did you kiss me?" I ask.
Alex: "Ohh" his cheeks flush with embarrassment and a hint of surprise from this unexpected question, "I'm sorry if it caught you off guard, but I need to be honest with you... I have strong feelings for you," he pauses, "...not just a mere liking, I love you." he concludes.
Me: "What?" My eyes widen in surprise as he suddenly confesses.
Alex: "You don't have to accept it now, but I will still love you and make you fall for me," he says with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes and a playful smirk dancing on his lips
.Me: "How old are you, Alex?" I ask curiously.
Alex: "I'm 23, and I think we would make a perfect couple. Now let's dig in and you should rest," he says, placing the plate back in my hand. His words leave me both confused and surprised.

I finished my food quickly, unable to control my voracious appetite, and placed the plate back on the table. I notice Alex smirking mischievously at me.
Me: "What?"I ask him raising my eyebrows.

A chuckle escapes his lips as he gently brushes away the crumbs from my lips with his thumb, causing my heart to skip a beat.
He leans forward and surprises me with a passionate kiss. It wasn't a gentle brush but a deep and tender kiss that sent butterflies fluttering in my stomach. A rush of heat floods my cheeks, turning them a rosy shade of pink. My heart races and I try pushing him away but his hand grip on my waist tightens, drawing me closer to him and creating an electrifying connection between us.
He abruptly ceases our passionate embrace, planting a tender kiss on my cheek. Without uttering a word, he gently places the pills in the palm of my hand and leaves the room with the plates, leaving me alone with the lingering moment, my heart racing.
