"That's how they said it happened."
"That is not how it happened, Sarah," Rebecca rolled her eyes.
"Pretty sure that is how it happened, Rebecca. My dad was the kids' doctor."
"I'll tell you what happened," Rebecca said, rolling her eyes at Sarah, who straightened up and peered around the campfire. "My dad was the first police officer on the scene that night. When he went into the Hill's house, everyone was dead." Rebecca looked right at each person as she was telling the story. "They found one of the twins in the tool shed out back, where the father had died a few years prior. They said it was an "accident," She threw up air quotes. He supposedly got cut by one of his wood-cutting tools and bled to death." She pretended to cut her wrists and stuck out her tongue, rolled her eyes back, and cocked her head to mimic someone dying.
"Oh my god," one of the other random girls gasped, and Rebecca chuckled.
"The funny thing about that was that there was a mess up at the morgue, and they lost his body." She added with sarcasm and emphasized each word. "The other twin, I think her name was Amy; I only remember that one because the killer killed her the worst way."
"What way is that?" one of the random football jocks questioned.
Sarah began to feel uneasy and turned and peered into the darkened woods that faced their backs. That made her turn back around and move closer to the fire. The rest of the group that had watched her do this did the same.
The flames danced, and the sounds of crackling firewood filled the night. The scent of cedar embers, beer, and toasted marshmallows lingered in the cool night air, but the fire warmed the souls of the curious listeners.
"She was found in their toy chest with all her hair ripped from her scalp and stabbed in both eyes with a wood carving knife." Rebecca continued, fake pulling at her hair and stabbing at her eyes in a demonstration. "The words "YOU LET HER TOUCH ME" were carved into the chest lid."
"How was the mother killed?" Tate asked, causing Sarah to get closer to him.
Tate was the head of the football team and Sarah's new crush. He had blond hair, blue eyes, and a six-pack of abs that would make your mother scream. He had this thing about him that always rubbed Rebecca the wrong way.
"They found her in the kitchen with her neck ripped apart and bite marks on her legs. If that wasn't enough, the killer shoved her kids' drawings in her mouth."
"Her neck?!" Sarah gasped, clutching Tate tighter.
"Ripped her jugular out with their teeth," Rebecca moved closer to Sarah and lightly graced her neck.
